The Sacramento Kings are on their way for a potential season of ultimate dream, as they are currently within the top eight of the Western Conference. For Kevin Huerter, he is optimistic that this year’s team will finally erase the drought.
“We want to be the team to end the drought,” Huerter told HoopsHype’s Mike Scotto. “The organization has lost a lot in the last however many years, but individually and us collectively as a team, we weren’t those Kings. We’re a completely different team. We may wear the same jersey, but those teams aren’t us. That’s been our mindset.”
Filling their record with a 14-12 card, the Kings are eager to make a push to end the franchise’s 16-year dry spell in the postseason – the current longest across all American major sports leagues.
Meanwhile, Malik Monk made it known that he headed to Sacramento in order to help change the culture and aid the Kings towards an unfamiliar contention after years of mediocrity.
“I wanted to change the culture,” Monk said. “I wanted to come in here and change everything about Sacramento and how everyone thought about it.
“I think we’re doing that now. We’ve just got to continue to win.”
