Best Defensive Line Waiver Pickups | Week 7 IDP
Player | Team | FAAB % | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Charles Omenihu | Chiefs | 1–5% | 6 TK, 2 SK, 3 QBH in his last two games |
Myles Murphy | Bengals | 1–5% | Trey Hendrickson left Week 6 with injury, 18.8% pass rush win rate |
Charles Omenihu | Kansas City Chiefs | 1–5% FAAB
Charles Omenihu, a potential game-changer, is a player to consider adding to your roster. His recent performance, with 6 tackles and 2 sacks over his previous two games, can make an immediate impact. He’s led all of the Chiefs’ DL in fantasy points over the past three weeks, making him a strong contender for your team.
Adding Charles Omenihu ahead of the Week 7 matchup against the division rival Las Vegas Raiders, who are in the bottom five in the NFL in sacks allowed this season, could give you a strategic advantage. With a potential 50% defensive snap share or higher, he could be the key to stealing production from your league’s waiver wire and outperforming your competition.
Myles Murphy | Cincinnati Bengals | 1–5% FAAB
A week later, the leading candidate for IDP players to watch in Week 6 becomes a top waiver add. Myles Murphy, who played an expanded role last week when star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson left the game with a back injury, has been showing promising performance. His 9 pressures rank 66th out of 170 EDGE rushers, and he’s averaging 9 fantasy points per game (FPPG) over the last three weeks. With Trey Hendrickson’s status in doubt and the team struggling, Murphy could be a solid option for fantasy managers, especially with depth at the DL position thinning.
The former Clemson Tiger is averaging 9 fantasy points per game (FPPG) over the last three weeks. There’s a potential for him to see an expanded role with Trey Hendrickson’s status in doubt and the team struggling. At this point in the season, injuries and bye weeks can have you searching for players to start. Murphy could be a solid option with depth at the DL position thinning.
IDP Trivia | Since 2020, only 3 linebackers have recorded 100+ tackles and 10+ tackles for loss in multiple seasons. One of them is Fred Warner. Can you name the other two?
Linebacker Adds (LB) | Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire
Player | Team | FAAB % | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Tatum Bethune | 49ers | 15–30% | Fred Warner out for season — full-time LB |
Barrett Carter | Bengals | 15–30% | 11 tackles, 100% snap share in Week 6 |
Tatum Bethune | San Francisco 49ers | 15–30% FAAB
As excited as IDP managers will be to have a difference maker available at the linebacker position, it will be bittersweet as we lost one of the greats in Fred Warner. One of the best defensive players in the NFL and a measuring stick for LB production for IDP fantasy football will miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.
Robert Sallah has now lost his best two defenders this season. It will be the next man up for Tatum Bethune. The San Francisco 49ers selected the former Florida State LB in the 7th round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He now finds himself in an every-down role for the 49ers defense. After Warner’s exit, he posted 10 tackles in Week 6, which was more tackle production than his entire rookie season. IDP managers must prepare to spend FAAB this week, as every manager in their league will have Bethune on their radars.
Barrett Carter | Cincinnati Bengals | 15–30% FAAB
IDP managers have been blessed with a double dose of productive linebackers available on waivers. I have pounded the table this off-season for Barrett Carter, whom I loved as a prospect. You can find my reasoning here. He was also mentioned as a linebacker to target in Week 2. The former Clemson LB had the potential to be an every-down player at the NFL level. He wasted no time proving that to us with an 11-tackle performance in Week 6.
#FFIDP – Cincinnati Bengals LINEBACKERS in Week 6:
61 defensive snaps
Welp, Logan Wilson might be toast.
After surviving any snap shenanigans last week, he only played 12 snaps in this one as the team’s LB3 behind the rookies!

The Cincinnati Bengals are facing a massive uphill battle to make the playoffs this season, and they need to focus on the future at some point. Logan Wilson’s contract has a buyout that the team will likely exercise next season, making him a potential trade candidate. Wilson played just 19.7% of defensive snaps in Week 6. Barrett Carter could be the team’s top LB option going forward. IDP managers should not overlook the potential of adding him to their rosters.

Defensive Back Adds (DB) | Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire
Player | Team | FAAB % | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Rasul Douglas | Dolphins | 1–5% | DB14 over last month, 100% snap share |
Mekhi Blackmon | Colts | 3–8% | 5+ tackles in 5 of 6 games, DB8 since Week 3 |
Rasul Douglas | Miami Dolphins | 1–5% FAAB
The Miami Dolphins’ secondary leaves much to be desired. However, for IDP managers, Rasul Douglas has remained consistent despite playing for his third team in the last three seasons. According to Pro Football Focus, the Dolphins’ cornerback plays 100% of the defensive snaps and has a 14.1% box snap rate. Douglas has had at least 55 tackles in six consecutive seasons. This type of production can help managers who rely on streaming defensive backs weekly.
Mekhi Blackmon | Indianapolis Colts | 3–8% FAAB
IDP spoiler alert! Mekhi Blackmon was a stream option in Week 6 and is now one of the top adds for this week. The Indianapolis Colts’ defensive back has been electric as of late. He’s been the DB8 since Week 3, including at least 18 fantasy points in back-to-back games. Blackmon is averaging 4.8 tackles and has collected 2 interceptions this season. He should continue to have a safe tackle floor and could be a plug-and-play starter for your rosters.

Jerome Baker – Has yet to cut into the potential LB2 role in Cleveland. Has seen inconsistent snap share and low tackle output.
Jahdae Barron – Disappointing start to his career. Currently splitting the slot DB role with JaQuan McMillan.Has averaged less than 5 FPPG.
Top Trade Targets | Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire
Player | Reason / Strategy |
---|---|
Jalen Carter | Underperforming — sell to rebuilders for steadier DL production |
Ivan Pace Jr. | Four straight double-digit games, sell high before regression |
Jevon Holland | DB4 on his own team, trade on name value for draft capital |
Top Week 7 IDP Trade Targets | DL, LB, DB Must-Adds
Jalen Carter – The production is not there. DT74 and DL160 on the season. Has missed 2 of the first 6 games. Ed Oliver has played one game this season and has more fantasy points. Sell to the rebuilding IDP manager for more consistent production at the position.
Ivan Pace Jr. – LB41 on the season. Four straight double-digit fantasy point games. Sell high with Blake Cashman, who is designated for return from IR.
Jevon Holland – Too many mouths to feed in New York. He is DB4 on his own team in fantasy points this season. Look for someone trying to acquire a player with name value for future draft capital.

FAQ | Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups
Q: Who is the top IDP add this week?
A: Tatum Bethune (LB, San Francisco 49ers) is the top waiver add for Week 7. With Fred Warner sidelined for the remainder of the season, Bethune steps into an every-down linebacker role in one of the most productive tackle environments in IDP fantasy football. He’s fresh off a 10-tackle outing and should immediately be rostered as an LB2 with upside.
Q: Which linebacker should I prioritize?
A: Barrett Carter (LB, Cincinnati Bengals) continues to be a priority addition in all formats. He played 100% of the defensive snaps in Week 6 and tallied 11 tackles. With the Bengals evaluating younger talent amid a disappointing start, Carter has the potential to hold a full-time role for the rest of the season. Carter and Bethune are each worth aggressive FAAB bids (15–30%).
Q: Are there defensive backs worth adding?
A: Yes. Rasul Douglas (DB, Miami Dolphins) and Mekhi Blackmon (DB, Indianapolis Colts) headline this week’s defensive back pickups. Douglas is a consistent veteran who plays every defensive snap and has a long track record of tackle production. At the same time, Blackmon has emerged as a DB8 over the last month, averaging 18+ fantasy points in consecutive games. Both players provide stability and strong weekly floors.
Q: Who are the best drop candidates this week?
A: You can safely move on from Dante Fowler Jr., Jerome Baker, and Jahdae Barron. Fowler is buried in a deep rotation in Dallas, Baker hasn’t earned consistent snaps in Cleveland, and Barron continues to disappoint with a limited slot role and sub-5 FPPG average.
Q: Should I sell high on anyone?
A: Ivan Pace Jr. is the best sell-high candidate after four straight double-digit fantasy performances. With Blake Cashman expected to return from IR, Pace’s role could regress. Jalen Carter is another sell option — despite his elite draft pedigree, he’s been inconsistent and ranks outside the top 70 DTs. Managers can flip him to a rebuilding team for a steadier DL producer.
Q: What deep dynasty stashes should I keep an eye on?A:Azeez Ojulari, Ventrell Miller, and Malachi Moore headline this week’s dynasty watchlist. Ojulari’s pressure metrics continue to climb as he regains form, Miller has flashed LB3 potential when given full-time reps, and Moore is earning more playing time and could carve out a starting role with Tony Adams battling injuries. These are smart long-term adds for managers in deeper dynasty formats.
