Week 6 Fantasy Football Trade Advice

Hey Nerds! This Week 6 Fantasy Football Trade Advice marks a turning point in our fantasy football season. By now, managers have a clear picture of where their rosters stand—whether they’re genuine contenders, holding steady in the middle of the pack, or pretenders. Injuries, breakout performances, and increased roles are reshaping player values every week, and the trade market is heating up as bye weeks add extra pressure. The smartest managers know that Week 6 is the time to capitalize—selling high on overachievers, buying low on under performers, and making moves that set their teams up for a playoff run.

Now is the time to strike a deal for TreVeyon Henderson. The New England Patriots lost Antonio Gibson to a torn ACL against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. Since the start of 2024, Rhamondre Stevenson has had 10 fumbles, including another one on Sunday night. Head Coach Mike Vrabel has expressed his concern about Stevenson’s fumbling issues and will eventually be left with no choice but to turn to Henderson. If there is any buying opportunity in your league to acquire Henderson, do it.

Dak Prescott | QB | Cowboys | Week 6 Quarterback for Contenders

As highlighted on our Tuesday episode of Dynasty Nerds, if you are a contender in need of a quarterback, look no further than Dak Prescott. Garret Price highlighted that Prescott is leading the league in pass attempts and is second in passing yards. Contenders should look to move their 2026 1st round pick, as it will be a later pick for Prescott. I also agree with Garret that if I needed to, I would trade my 2nd round pick as well.

Brashard Smith | RB | Chiefs | Week 6 Running Back Trade For Contenders or Rebuilders

Seventh-round rookie running back Brashard Smith out of SMU has carved out a role already in the Kansas City backfield, and it doesn’t seem like that’ll be going away. At 30 years old, Kareem Hunt is on the wrong side of 29. Following Hunt’s two-touchdown performance on Monday Night Football, the Smith manager may be concerned about his role moving forward. In our Dynasty Nerds ranking, Smith is RB62 behind Cam Akers, Tank Bigsby, and Jordan James. I prefer Smith over all those options. Start your negotiations off with a third-round pick or a lower upside running back like Jaydon Blue or Jaylen Wright.

Theo Johnson | TE | Giants | Week 6 Tight End Trade For Contenders or Rebuilders

Theo Johnson has been a name I have mentioned in previous waiver wire articles as well as during the offseason. Hopefully, my advice has already landed Johnson on your fantasy rosters, as his price is now much steeper. However, it is for good reason, as Johnson tied for the team lead in receptions (6) and also found the end zone twice on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. With Mailk Nabers out for the season and now Darius Slayton also dealing with injuries, the opportunity continues to grow for Johnson. I consider Johnson a great candidate for both contenders and rebuilders.

Players to Trade Away | Week 6 Fantasy Football Trade Advice

Player Position Team Trade Value
Geno Smith QB Raiders Late 2nd–early 3rd
Jerry Jeudy WR Broncos Package + pick to tier up
Jameson Williams WR Lions Mid 2nd or comparable value

Geno Smith | QB | Raiders | Week 6 Quarterback Trade Away

Geno Smith is playing some of the worst football of his 12-year NFL career. Through five weeks, he has six touchdown passes and nine interceptions. Head Coach Pete Carroll told reporters that he was ready to pull his starting quarterback in Week 5, but opted not to, given how much improvement is needed. Smith is clearly is on a shorter leash than he was with the Raiders at the beginning of the season. If he does make it through the week, he gets a great matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Geno Smith’s value is around a late-2nd to an early-3rd, but that value is dropping by the day.

Jerry Jeudy | WR | Broncos | Week 6 Wide Receiver Trade Away

Jerry Jeudy has failed to surpass 66 receiving yards in a game this season. While he is still seeing at least five targets a game, the production has not been there. With Dillon Gabriel at quarterback, the offense shifted more towards the rushing attack and the tight ends. If you have read previous articles that I have written, you would know that I am not a Jeudy guy. This may be a situation where you have to pair Jeudy with a player/pick to tier up to get fair value.

Many expected Jameson Williams to elevate his game to the next level after eclipsing 1,000 receiving yards in 2024. Unfortunately, that has not happened, as he has logged 11 catches for 223 yards and 1 touchdown (through 5 games on 21 targets). Williams is WR26 in our dynasty rankings, and recent trades indicate that he still has decent trade value, as shown below.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Trade Advice | FAQ

Find answers to the most-searched Week 6 fantasy trade questions below—from who to buy low on to whether it’s time to rebuild your dynasty roster.

Who is the must-buy player in Week 6 fantasy football trades?

TreVeyon Henderson is the must-buy target this week. With Rhamondre Stevenson struggling and Antonio Gibson out, Henderson’s role in New England could explode.

Which quarterback should I trade for to win my fantasy football championship?

Dak Prescott is the ideal QB trade target for contenders. He’s leading the NFL in pass attempts and offers a high floor for playoff pushes.

Is Brashard Smith a fantasy sleeper worth trading for?

Yes. Brashard Smith’s role in the Chiefs’ offense is growing weekly, and he’s a low-cost flex or dynasty stash before his value rises.

Should I trade for Theo Johnson before his price rises?

Absolutely. With multiple Giants WR injuries, Theo Johnson’s volume is climbing fast—making him a strong TE addition for both rebuilders and contenders.

What should I be looking to get for Jameson Williams as a rebuilder? As a contender?

Rebuilders should aim for a 2026 2nd or an upside rookie pick. Contenders could flip Jameson Williams for a productive veteran WR or a mid-tier RB plus a pick.

Is it time to sell Geno Smith before he gets benched?

Yes. Geno Smith’s value is trending down, and one more poor performance could tank his market. Move him now for a 2nd or 3rd-round pick.

How do I know if I’m a contender after Week 5? Should I be rebuilding?
