Quarterback Waiver Wire Targets | Week 4 Fantasy Football

Top Quarterback Adds for Week 4 Waiver Wire (Table Condensed)
Player Team Rostership FAAB Bid Role / Situation
Tyrod Taylor New York Jets 35% 10–20% Spot starter if Justin Fields remains out
Marcus Mariota Washington Commanders 41% 10–20% Handcuff / fill-in for Jayden Daniels

Tyrod Taylor | New York Jets | 35% Rostership| 10% – 20% FAAB | 20% (Justin Fields Manager)

Tyrod Taylor completed 26-of-36 passes for 197 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a 29-27, Week 3 loss to the Bucs in a game nearly won by the New York Jets. If Justin Fields is unable to return for Week 4, Taylor has a great matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Marcus Mariota | Washington Commanders | 41% Rostership | 10% – 20% FAAB | 20% (Jayden Daniels Manager)

I hope you used my advice from last week to handcuff your quarterback and have already rostered Marcus Mariota if you are the Jayden Daniels manager. While this may be a one-week fill-in for Mariota, as Daniels returned to practice as a limited participant. It bears repeating that handcuffing your quarterback is a must if they are out on the waiver wire or as a throw-in for larger trades.

Mariota filled in nicely for Daniels, completing 15 of 21 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 41-24 win over the Raiders. He added 40 rushing yards and a TD on six carries.

Running Back Waiver Wire Targets | Week 4 Fantasy Football

Week 4 Running Back Waiver Wire Pickups Chart (Condensed)
Player Team Rostership FAAB Bid Role / Situation
Hassan Haskins Los Angeles Chargers 11% 5% Next man up with Najee Harris Achilles injury
George Holani Seattle Seahawks 12% 2% Backup to Walker, fill-in if Charbonnet misses
Jeremy McNichols Washington Commanders 43% 5% Part of committee, explosive on limited touches
Zavier Scott Minnesota Vikings 11% 2% Outplayed Cam Akers as Jordan Mason’s relief

Hassan Haskins | Los Angeles Chargers | 11% Rostership | 5% FAAB

Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh said preliminary tests indicated Najee Harris suffered a torn Achilles against the Denver Broncos. Hassan Haskins will be the next man up as the primary backup to Omarion Hampton.

George Holani | Seattle Seahawks | 12% Rostership | 2% FAAB

With Zach Charbonnet inactive in Week 3 with a foot injury, George Holani filled in as the backup running back to Kenneth Walker. Holani tallied 10 carries, primarily due to the game script and Seattle’s control of the game. However, if Zach Charbonnet continues to miss time, Holani is the running back to roster behind Walker.

Jeremy McNichols | Washington Commanders | 43% Rostership | 5% FAAB

As previously mentioned in last week’s article, Jeremy McNichols makes his second appearance in my article. Washington has transitioned to a committee approach at running back, with Austin Ekeler being placed on the season-ending Injured Reserve.

McNichols’ four carries were the fewest of any Commanders running back, but his 78 yards on the ground led the team while also finding the endzone. This backfield is messy but McNichols Week 3 performance has shown he deserves for opportunity.

Zavier Scott | Minnesota Vikings | 11% Rostership | 2% FAAB

Cam Akers re-signed earlier in the week with the Minnesota Vikings after the news broke of Aaron Jones going to the Injured Reserve. However, Zavier Scott, who was already on the roster, proved to be the more efficient back in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals while relieving Jordan Mason.

Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Targets | Week 4 Fantasy Football

Week 4 Waiver Wire Adds for WR (Condensed Table)
Player Team Rostership FAAB Bid Role / Situation
Kendrick Bourne San Francisco 49ers 21% 2% Short-term WR fill-in while Aiyuk/Kittle/Jennings out
Luke McCaffrey Washington Commanders 45% 5% Career game in Week 3; may step up if McLaurin misses
Sterling Shepard Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19% 5–10% Mike Evans hamstring risk → Shepard could start
Parker Washington Jacksonville Jaguars 32% 5% Team-high 11 targets; Dyami Brown injury opens window

Kendrick Bourne | San Francisco 49ers | 21% Rostership | 2% FAAB

On September 9, 2025,  Kendrick Bourne signed a one-year contract with the 49ers after being released from the New England Patriots. Currently in just two games with the 49ers, Bourne has already seen nine targets. While this is a short-term add with the eventual returns of Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and George Kittle, as long as they are out of the lineup, Bourne will continue to get opportunities.

Luke McCaffrey | Washington Commanders | 45% Rostership | 5% FAAB

Luke McCaffrey is a former third-round pick whom Dynasty Nerd Rich liked coming into the league. While having a mediocre rookie season, McCaffrey had a career high 56 receiving yards while also scoring his first career touchdown in Week 3. His career game came at the expense of an injury to Terry McLaurin, which will make this a situation to monitor. If McLaurin misses any time, McCaffrey may see an increased role.

Parker Washington | Jacksonville Jaguars | 32% Rostership | 5% FAAB

While Parker Washington was not very productive in Week 3, his team-high 11 targets cannot be ignored. This marks the second consecutive week that Washington has led the team in targets, which makes this a situation to monitor, especially with Dyami Brown leaving the game with a shoulder injury.

Sterling Shepard | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 19% Rostership | 5-10% FAAB

While Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan have been sidelined for the Buccaneers, Sterling Shepard has filled in as the WR3 for Tampa Bay. Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury late in the 4th quarter against the Jets and was immediately ruled out. Evans has battled hamstring issues in the past, missing three games last year and three more in 2019. Shepard may have to fill in as the WR2 across from Emeka Egbuka. Shepard and Baker Mayfield have chemistry together dating back to their college days, which was also evident in a 4-reception, 80-yard receiving performance against the Jets in Week 3.

FAQ | Week 4 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Pickups

Week 4 Top Adds for Waiver Wire Pickups QB, RB, WR (Top 3)

Top Week 4 Waiver Wire Adds | Best at QB, RB, WR

Position Top Add Rostership FAAB Range Week 4 Context
QB Tyrod Taylor (Jets) 35% 10–20% Justin Fields injury fill-in vs. Miami
RB Hassan Haskins (Chargers) 11% 5% Najee Harris Achilles injury opens role
WR Sterling Shepard (Buccaneers) 19% 5–10% Mike Evans hamstring injury boosts snaps

Q: Who is the top Week 4 waiver wire QB pickup?
A: Tyrod Taylor is the priority add if Justin Fields misses Week 4. He faces Miami in a high-passing matchup and is streamable in SuperFlex formats.

Q: Which RB should I target after Najee Harris’ Week 3 injury?
A: Hassan Haskins is the next man up for the Chargers with Harris likely out long-term. He’s worth a 5% FAAB bid in 12-team dynasty leagues.

Q: Is Sterling Shepard a must-add after Mike Evans’ Week 3 hamstring injury?
A: Yes. Sterling Shepard steps into a larger role if Evans sits in Week 4, making him a WR3 option in dynasty and redraft formats.

Q: Who led the Jaguars in targets in Week 3 and should I add him?
A: Parker Washington led Jacksonville with 11 targets for the second straight week. He’s a Week 4 waiver pickup if Dyami Brown’s shoulder injury lingers.

Q: Should dynasty managers continue to handcuff QBs in 2025?
A: Absolutely. Marcus Mariota proved valuable in Week 3 filling in for Jayden Daniels. In Week 4 and beyond, having your QB’s backup rostered can save your lineup.
