2027 1QB Rookie Mock Draft
1.01 | Jeremiah Smith | WR | Ohio State

Keith Ensminger:
A generational prospect who likely needs little introduction to even the most casual of football fans, Jeremiah Smith arrived at Ohio State as the consensus top recruit in his freshman class. He immediately validated his hype by shattering freshman receiving records during Ohio State’s 2024 national championship run. He shook off any potential sophomore slump and was named a unanimous All-American last season. With a mix of Julio Jones-esque physical dominance and vertical speed, he profiles as a top-five lock in the 2027 NFL Draft. Even in Superflex leagues, despite a rookie class filled with several quarterback prospects, Smith is talked about as a consensus 1.01 target, offering a rare combination of immediate WR1 production and decade-long roster insulation.
Must-Watch Game: September 12, 2026 at Texas
One of the biggest games of the college football season is the rematch of last year’s star-studded opener, the Week 2 showdown which sees the Buckeyes go on the road to face Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns. Going up against a defense loaded with future NFL talent in one of college football’s most hostile road environments, this matchup will have the eyes of the football world upon it. As the saying goes, “big time players make big time plays in big time games.”
1.02 | Cam Coleman | WR | Texas

Bobby Bishop:
Cam Coleman is in a tier of his own as the second-best wide receiver in this class. He transferred to Texas to catch passes from Arch Manning, a drastic improvement from the poor quarterback play Coleman dealt with at Auburn. The off-target throws allowed Coleman to showcase his elite catch radius, hauling in several receptions that would have been uncatchable for most receivers.
Must-Watch Game: October 31, 2026 vs. Mississippi State
The game I’m looking forward to the most for Coleman is against Mississippi State on Halloween. Kelley Jones is one of the top cornerbacks in the draft, and one of the few players at that position that can match up or maybe even outclass Coleman physically. When Coleman no longer has a size advantage, will he show the scouting community that he can win in other ways?
1.03 | Kewan Lacy | RB | Ole Miss
H 5’11” | W 205
John Hammersmith:
Kewan Lacy has the look of the next great SEC running back. After breaking out as one of the most explosive players in college, he enters 2026 as the centerpiece of an Ole Miss offense with legitimate playoff expectations. He has the size to carry a workload, the burst to create big plays, and receiving ability to stay involved on all three downs.
Must-Watch Game: November 7, 2026 vs. Georgia
The game I have circled is November 7 against Georgia. Running through weaker opponents is one thing. Producing against a defense filled with future NFL players is a completely different feat. This matchup should give us a strong idea of how Lacy’s game translates when the space disappears. If he delivers a statement performance against Georgia, it could lock him in as the top running back in the 2027 class.
1.04 | Ahmad Hardy | RB | Missouri

Mike Johrendt:
Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy checks in at the 1.04 in this mock draft, and he is probably one of the most polarizing selections in this first round. Hardy is recovering from being shot in the leg at a concert this offseason, and while he has been progressing well in his recovery, his timeline to step back onto the field remains very up in the air.
Must-Watch Game: November 14, 2026 at Georgia
A 300-yard showing for Hardy against Mississippi State last season included a 72-yard run and three touchdowns. Hardy was an absolute bowling ball in the win, as the Tigers leaned on Hardy for 25 carries and a 12 yards-per-carry average. Running around and through defenders all night, Hardy’s skill set was on full display that night, putting together one of his most complete showings in the 2025 season.
1.05 | Ryan Coleman-Williams | WR | Alabama
H 6’0” | W 182
Doc Mitchell:
Just two short years ago, Ryan Coleman-Williams was thought to be in a similar tier as Jeremiah Smith. One lackluster year later, and he is seen as somewhat less. That being said, he is still supremely talented and primed for his best year yet. He will undoubtedly be looking to boost his draft stock ahead of his likely early entry in the 2027 class.
Must-Watch Game: October 10, 2026 vs. Georgia
At this point, we don’t know if Austin Mack or Keelon Russell will be slinging the rock for the Crimson Tide. Alabama has fallen off a bit since Nick Saban’s retirement, but they look poised to make some noise in the SEC this year. With 3 games against pre-season top 10 opponents, there will be plenty of quality film to review. In particular, the October 10th showdown with Georgia in Tuscaloosa will be a game to mark on your calendar. I still believe in the talent and expect a big year in 2026.
1.06 | Bryant Wesco Jr. | WR | Clemson
H 6’2” | W 195
Mychal Warno:
Coming out of Midlothian, Texas, Bryant Wesco Jr. was a former four-star recruit and a consensus top-35 national recruit. As a true freshman, Wesco posted over 700 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns across 12 games. Those numbers earned him Freshman All-American honors. Wesco was well on his way to a successful sophomore season recording three 100-yard games through his first 8 games until a spinal contusion on a punt return against SMU in Week 8 ended his 2025 season. His season ended with 31 catches for 537 yards and a team-high 6 touchdowns. At 6’2’’, Wesco is excellent at deep ball tracking and has effortless deep speed.
Must-Watch Game: September 5, 2026 at LSU
The must-watch game for Wesco is Clemson’s Week 1 game against the LSU Tigers. We will immediately be able to see how Wesco’s rehab and recovery has gone as Clemson travels to Death Valley. All reports surrounding his recovery have been positive, and Wesco is expected to be fully cleared. LSU cornerback DJ Pickett will likely be tasked with covering Wesco. At 6’5’’ 195lb, Pickett allowed only 15 receptions for 188 receiving yards and one touchdown across 262 pass coverage snaps in 2025. A healthy Wesco versus Pickett is must-watch TV.
1.07 | Justice Haynes | RB | Georgia Tech
H 5’11” | W 210
Keith Ensminger:
Another consensus five-star recruit in a loaded class, Justice Haynes brings an explosive blend of contact balance and game-breaking acceleration to Georgia Tech. After short stints at Alabama and Michigan, Haynes surprised many by not just returning to school, but transferring from Michigan to Georgia Tech. His dual-threat potential and battle-tested experience in both the Big Ten and the SEC should make him a high-priority target in dynasty rookie drafts.
Must-Watch Game: November 28, 2026 at Georgia
Georgia Tech travels to rival Georgia for their regular-season finale. Beyond the storyline of Haynes playing in his home-state’s biggest rivalry game, it will also pit his skill set against Georgia’s elite defense. Will Haynes prove his NFL mettle? To do so, he will have to show scouts that he can rise to the challenge against high-end SEC talent.
1.08 | Jadan Baugh | RB | Florida

Bobby Bishop:
Jadan Baugh is a bruising running back, who resembles the ideal 90’s ground and pound running back. Despite being 230 lbs, he’s surprisingly agile and elusive, but power will always be his strongest trait. He broke out for a 1,000-yard campaign in 2025 against a grueling SEC schedule. Baugh has racked up 15 touchdowns in his 2 college seasons.
Must-Watch Game: October 31, 2026 at Georgia
Florida will face a tough matchup against Georgia on Halloween. I love watching players’ tape against Georgia because it is often times the closest thing to an NFL defense that they will face in college. Baugh will no doubt get worn down, and Florida will likely be chasing. Can Baugh assert his will against a dominant defense? Can he impact the passing game and help a team come from behind? Baugh’s performance against Georgia should address those questions.
1.09 | Nick Marsh | WR | Indiana
H 6’3” | W 213
John Hammersmith:
Nick Marsh has the size and ball skills to emerge as a top wide receiver in the 2027 class. The former 4-star recruit can win downfield, create after the catch, and overpower defensive backs at the catch point. Now at Indiana, he has the opportunity to become the featured weapon in an offense built to showcase him. Marsh could quickly enter the first-round conversation by season’s end.
Must-Watch Game: October 17, 2026 vs. Ohio State
The game to watch is October 17, when Ohio State comes to Memorial Stadium. This will be a huge stage for Marsh to prove he belongs among the class’s top receivers. Ohio State will bring elite talent, future NFL defensive backs, and national attention to Bloomington. If Marsh can take over that matchup and help Indiana threaten one of the sport’s premier programs, it could become the performance that launches him up draft boards.
1.10 | Charlie Becker | WR | Indiana

Mike Johrendt:
Playing in the shadow of Elijah Sarratt last season, Charlie Becker is ready to burst onto the scene as one of the top receivers at Indiana in 2026. Creating a deadly one-two punch with Nick Marsh, Becker is a field stretcher with burner speed, filling the boundary role extremely well for the Hoosiers as their downfield threat.
Must-Watch Game: October 17, 2026 vs. Ohio State
Becker’s coming-out party was in the Big 10 Championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes last December, as Becker hauled in six passes for 126 yards. While needing to become better at fighting through press coverage and more physical at the line of scrimmage, Becker’s release package was on full display, as he regularly separated from some of the best CBs in college football in this game. With his tape cut from the same cloth as an Alec Pierce or Christian Watson, Becker is in line for a solid year at Indiana as he looks to solidify himself in the strong WR group in the 2027 rookie class.
1.11 | Mark Fletcher Jr. | RB | Miami

Doc Mitchell:
With my second pick, I went to the RB position and selected Miami ball carrier Mark Fletcher Jr. The Hurricanes’ lead man was one of the driving forces behind the improbable Miami run last season. Fletcher accounted for over 1,300 total yards and 14 scores. Fletcher shocked many by returning to school when he looked like a Day 2 pick last year.
Must-Watch Game: November 7, 2026 at Notre Dame
Miami lost some talent last year but looks to be a big-time contender out of the ACC once again. Miami actually managed to bring in last year’s ACC conference champion QB Darian Mensah from Duke. I look for him and Fletcher to drive the Miami offense. The November 7 primetime showdown in South Bend against Notre Dame should be the marquee game of the season for Fletcher and company.
1.12 | Nate Frazier | RB | Georgia

Mychal Warno:
After a successful High School career at Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, California, Nate Frazier was the No. 2 ranked running back nationally by Rivals and selected to the All-American Bowl. Frazier received offers from Alabama, Oregon, and Texas A&M but ultimately decided to sign with the University of Georgia. As a true freshman, Frazier stepped into a significant role in the Georgia backfield rushing for 671 yards and 8 touchdowns, earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors. Frazier continued his success in his sophomore season rushing for 947 yards and 6 touchdowns while finishing 7th in rushing yards among SEC running backs, earning him ALL-SEC Third Team honors. Frazier is one of the more well-rounded backs in this class with a mixture of elite timed speed, contact balance, and receiving capability makes him a possible three-down running back.
Must-Watch Game: September 26, 2026 vs. Oklahoma
The must watch game for Frazier will be Sept 26th against Oklahoma, which will be Georgia’s SEC home opener. Frazier has the opportunity to showcase his talents against one of the top SEC teams. Whispers of ball security and ability to handle a full workload can be put to rest if Frazier is able to provide good tape during his junior season and could be a riser up draft boards.
Conclusion
A lot can and will change over the next year, from breakout performances to unexpected injuries, but the 2027 rookie class will undoubtedly change the entire landscape of dynasty fantasy football and the National Football League.
