Trinidad Chambliss was a zero-star prospect out of Forest Hills Northern High School who committed to Ferris State University (Division II). His early college career was delayed due to health-related issues, preventing him from seeing the field during his first two seasons.
In his final season at Ferris State, Chambliss delivered a breakout campaign—throwing for over 3,000 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, while also adding more than 1,000 rushing yards on the ground. His dual-threat ability powered Ferris State to a Division II National Championship.
Following his championship with Ferris State, Trinidad Chambliss entered the transfer portal and landed at Ole Miss ahead of the 2025 season. He delivered a Heisman-caliber breakout and finished 8th in the national Heisman voting. Chambliss was named the Conerly Trophy winner as Mississippi’s top player and earned SEC Newcomer of the Year honors.
As the engine of the Rebels offense, Chambliss led Ole Miss to the College Football Playoff semifinals, averaging 307 passing yards per game while accounting for 2 total touchdowns per contest.

Rookie Profile | Strengths and Weaknesses
Chambliss offers a dual-threat passing profile that can stress defenses in multiple ways. He consistently helps an offense in adverse situations by using his legs to extend plays, something that shows up repeatedly on film. He throws well on the run and maintains accuracy outside of structure. In a system that features heavy RPO concepts, Chambliss has the tools to thrive. He shows solid velocity and zip in the short and intermediate passing game, along with NFL-caliber arm strength to push the ball downfield. His mobility and arm talent could make him a significant weapon in the red zone.
Chambliss does have several red flags that need to be addressed or, at minimum, closely monitored. He is an undersized quarterback, and the film shows multiple instances of passes being batted down at the line of scrimmage. He has a tendency to stare down receivers and lock onto his first read, which allows zone coverage defenses to anticipate throws and limit production. While he flashes high-level playmaking ability, his ball placement is inconsistent, particularly when asked to fit throws into tight windows. Additionally, his pre-snap and post-snap processing will require further development and coaching at the NFL level.
His upside mirrors a Kyler Murray–type quarterback, with similar mobility and playmaking ability, but potentially a slightly stronger arm.
The floor, however, looks like Kyler Murray at his worst, when his accuracy becomes inconsistent and ball placement breaks down. There’s also a very real outcome where he settles in as a long-term NFL backup, never fully earning a sustained opportunity to start.

In the first play of the video, Chambliss shows strong pocket awareness, moving smoothly to avoid pressure and extending the play. His ability to feel pressure and keep the play alive is a trait you want to see in modern quarterbacks.
Two plays later, you see Chambliss at his best. When he is “on,” his arm talent stands out, as he delivers a tight-window throw across the middle for a strike. Following that, he caps the sequence with a solid deep ball, placing it where only his receiver can make a play, resulting in a touchdown.
Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots
Depending on how his pre-draft process unfolds, Chambliss could emerge as a sneaky late–Round 1 selection. Similar to Ty Simpson, both quarterbacks currently project more naturally as Round 2–3 prospects in my opinion, but the lack of elite, top-tier talent at the position could push them up draft boards. If Chambliss does end up in Round 1, a team like the Steelers could view him as a worthwhile gamble on upside. If he slides into the later rounds, teams such as the Dolphins or Colts could take a cost-effective shot on his developmental ceiling.
