No. 25 Texas A&M is back in the Associated Press rankings this season for the first time since Week 1 when it fell 23-13 to then-No. 14 Notre Dame.
Quarterback Conner Weigman was the starter in that game but injured an AC joint in his shoulder, an injury which was then re-aggravated in Week 2 against McNeese State.
Weigman went on to miss the next three games but returned to action Saturday against No. 9 Missouri.
The decision was a head-scratcher for some, as backup passer Marcel Reed went 3-0 in Weigman’s absence, with the Aggies outscoring opponents 80-63 in that span.
