Issac Paredes would start off the Independence Day eve with a blast of his own, a solo shot off of the foul pole for his 14th of the season.

Bobby Witt Jr would double in the third to plate Kyle Isbel to knot the score at one.

The Royals would take the lead on a Vinnie Pasquantino RBI single in the third, and Salvador Perez would deliver the penultimate dagger to plate two more in the seventh to make the game 4-2 Kansas City.

James MacArthur shuts the door in the ninth, and the Royals (48-40) win game two of the three-game set.

Zach Eflin will toe the slab opposite Alex Marsh for Kansas City at 8:10 PM EST at Kauffman Stadium.
