Skyler Bell | WR | UConn
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 185 lbs.
Skyler Bell is a prospect who seemingly came out of nowhere to become one of the leading receivers in college football during the 2025 season. Bell was a 3-star prospect out of Taft School in Watertown, CT. He eventually chose to attend the University of Wisconsin from a list of schools that included Iowa, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, and Rutgers. Bell spent three uneventful years in Madison, barely seeing the field with the Badgers. The lack of usage was enough to convince Bell to enter the transfer portal, where he eventually chose to head back home to the Huskies. You can see from the numbers below that this was the right decision.

Once he made his way to East Hartford, his career took off. Over the last two seasons of his collegiate career, he was one of the most productive playmakers in the nation. During his final year of 2025, he finished second in the entire nation in receiving yards. Bell also developed a nose for the end zone last season, scoring 13 touchdowns. He statistically got better every year, culminating in his selection as a Consensus All-American and an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Rookie Profile | Strengths and Weaknesses
When I see a player who has spent as much time in the college ranks as Skyler Bell I want to see a player who is very technically proficient in what he does. I want to see a player who wins with technique and not just raw athletic ability. He will need that at the next level where everyone is as good as the best players on his college team.
Bell brings all that to the table and more. He is a very smooth athlete who does a fantastic job of getting in and out of his cuts. Pay attention to how he can stick his foot in the ground and immediately gain separation on defenders. He has also shown the ability to make a double move based off of this hard plant allowing him to quickly change direction.
In the clip above, courtesy of our dynasty nerds prospect film room, Bell shows the ability to play on the inside and the outside. That will give him some nice versatility. Bell is on record as saying that he patterns his game after Stefon Diggs. When you watch him play, I can see some similarities in their game. Both are excellent off the line. Both possess incredible stop and start ability allowing them to juke players out of their cleats, and both players have really good hands routinely catching everything in their area.
A little on the slighter side if there is an area that I could see him needing to improve on at the next level it is his physicality. Due to his smaller weight he can get redirected by some of the bigger corners in the league. He has been able to avoid this problem at the college level with his nice release package where he makes excellent use of his hands when facing press coverage.
Skyler Bell | All-22 Film Breakdowns
One of the biggest benefits of a Nerd Herd Subscription is access to our All 22-Film Room. This amazing resource is a must-have for any true dynasty enthusiast. The All 22 tape gives you more than just the generic highlights of a player. You get to see what he is doing on plays where he doesn’t get the ball. Is he putting in maximum effort? Is he putting himself in the right place? Does he pick up blitzing linebackers? You get to see it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
When scouting Skyler Bell I think that the film that gives the best picture of just what he is and can be at the next level was his game against Boston College. You will see early in the film that he is a willing blocker on the outside. You also immediately see his ability to play all over the formation.
An underrated part of Bell’s game is his ability to win against both man and zone coverage. He is excellent at identifying zone coverage and find the soft spot all while presenting his QB with an open target with numbers facing the signal caller. You can also see him ability to take a shot when making plays over the middle of the field as well as his ever present yac ability.
Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots
Skyler Bell is simply a rock solid WR prospect. That said, he finds himself entering the NFL in a class that is fairly loaded at the position. He is also a bit of an older prospect, turning 24 this coming July. That will work to suppress his value in dynasty and the NFL Draft. Albeit more in the former than the latter.
I believe that Skyler Bell will hear his name called between the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the upcoming NFL Draft. Just how early he hears his name will depend on how he tests at the upcoming NFL combine. I believe he is a natural fit for a team looking to add a highly skilled No. 2 target in the passing game. A team like Pittsburgh would certainly benefit from having a player with his versatility to run alongside D.K. Metcalf. The Jets, Browns, and Saints would also make a lot of sense. I must confess that the more I scouted this playmaker, the more I liked him. I’m sure you will feel the same.
