7:51pm: It’s a $3MM guarantee, reports Kiley McDaniel of ESPN (Twitter link). The deal also contains $1MM in possible performance incentives.
7:48pm: The Royals announced they’ve signed left-hander Ryan Yarbrough to a one-year contract. He’d hit the open market after being non-tendered by the Rays at the end of the season. In a corresponding 40-man roster move, K.C. designated reliever Wyatt Mills for assignment.
Yarbrough rejoins first-year skipper Matt Quatraro, who’d spent the last four seasons on the Tampa Bay staff as Kevin Cash’s bench coach. The new Royals manager presumably played a role in recruiting Yarbrough to Kansas City.
