Ronald Acuña, Jr. has torn ACL; will miss remainder of 2024 season

The Atlanta Braves announced at 10:16PM Eastern that Ronald Acuña, Jr. underwent an MRI that revealed a complete tear of the ACL in his left knee. He will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Acuña, Jr. left today’s game against the Pirates after taking an extended lead from second base.

Moments before the official announcement from the Braves, Acuña, Jr. posted an ominous message on his Twitter/X account that seems bad news could be coming. That ultimately proved to be the case.

A roster move will be coming tomorrow as Atlanta will look to replace the team’s starting right-fielder after losing him for the second time in four seasons to a season-ending knee injury. He missed the last half of the World Series Championship 2021 season after suffering an injury to his right knee.

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
