The Tampa Bay Rays and ballpark design firm Populous have released new renderings and more details about their planned Rays neighborhood ballpark in St. Petersburg’s Historic Gas Plant District.
This includes a closer look at the gameday plaza outside the primary entrance in left field.

The Rays design nestles the stadium along a central thoroughfare sure to be busy on gamedays.

Other renderings provide a closer look at the lived in neighborhoods planned for the development (likely many years after the stadium is complete).

And finally, the interior gets two new detailed perspectives, one of the stadium on gameday, and one of it used as a concert venue.

A team press release provides further context on the design:
The ballpark’s design takes cues from a pavilion design. The venue will feature a fixed roof, large windows that wrap around the building, as well as doorways and terraces that connect the inside and the outside together. Porches play a key role in the venue’s design. The front porch historically played an integral social role in the former Gas Plant neighborhood and across St. Petersburg. The ballpark’s front porch will open up to a main plaza acting as a community gathering space within the Historic Gas Plant District.
Pending approvals from the St. Petersburg City Council and the Pinellas County Commission on significant financing packages in July, construction on the ballpark will start in January 2025.
