Rays: 2, Red Sox: 0 - Littell and Co. lock down Red Sox

Rays are looking to get a series win against the Boston Red Sox.

Rays got on the board first with a sacrifice fly by Brandon Lowe to bring home Jose Siri.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, Jonathan Aranda lead off with a 105 MPH laser to left field that bounced right off the wall and was thrown out trying to turn a long single into a short double.

Zach Littell threw another gem for his start, going 7 IP, giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walks and 7 strikeouts on 75 pitches.

In the bottom of the 7th inning, the Rays got another run when Taylor Walls singled, stole 2nd base, and then third on a bad throw by Red Sox catcher Danny Jansen. Dylan Carlson then hit a chopper that was good enough to get Walls home.

Edwin Uceta and Garrett Cleavinger combined for the last two innings, and kept the Red Sox shut out.

FINAL – RAYS: 2, RED SOX: 0

Rays win the series, and welcome the Toronto Blue Jays to the Trop tomorrow. Game time is at 6:50 PM
