The most notable aspect of last night’s rare loss amidst a Tampa Bay Rays hot streak was in the sky: drones!

Following in the footsteps of many west coast teams, the Rays added a drone show to light up the night sky with impressions of various Rays images, players, and unforgettable moments.

What was forgettable was this game.

Littell thrives by feeding his pitches into the zone, and for the most part was his usual self, pitching with efficiency and keeping the Rays in this game.

But on this day the O’s batters were seeing his slider too well — like on this one to the third baseman Westburg:

That bounce off the wall and back into play was ruled as a double, but there was also this longball later in the game:

Mason Montogomery was called upon to try and stop the flow of runs but unfortunately the breaking balls were high and the fastballs were low, and that was not a winning mix for the rookie reliever to stem flow of runs.

Game Notes

• Junior Caminero picked up the sole Rays RBI with a flare into right field with a man on third.
• Danny Jansen had a great catch, reacting quickly to sit down Colton Cowser in the eighth inning after a deflection off his glove.
• O’s starter Dean Kramer picked up his 500th career strikeout in this game.
• Littell’s homerun allowed is now double his total walks on the season.
