The New York Giants and Washington Commanders entered Week 13 knowing a loss by either side would severely hurt their playoff chances. As a result, the game was very tense from the opening whistle to the closing whistle.
Ultimately, things ended with a dud for both teams. A 58-yard Graham Gano field goal fell short in overtime, leaving Washington and New York with a 20-20 tie.

Here’s a look at how Giants Twitter reacted throughout the game.
This is the best I’ve seen the #Giants pass rush look in god knows how long. Love what adding Ojulari does. This is a really promising sign for them as the clear cut strength of this team will be the defensive front if they can make a run.
Need Leonard Williams healthy, ofc.— Dan Schneier (@DanSchneierNFL) December 4, 2022
Azeez Ojulari is so valuable and seems to have made a 2nd year jump.

Dexter Lawrence with a HUGE sack that helped lead to a missed FG
Guy is having a phenomenal season
— Nick Falato (@nickfalato) December 4, 2022
This is the “deep end.” We’ll see if the Giants can rediscover their early season form of closing out opponents.
— Dan Duggan (@DDuggan21) December 4, 2022
That would be sack No. 6 for #Giants IDL Dexter Lawrence. Previous career-high was 4.0, which he had in 2020. Really strong year for Lawrence.

Daboll livid after that taunting call
— Charlotte Carroll (@charlottecrrll) December 4, 2022
Daniel Jones sacked on 3rd down.
Second half offense has been a disaster.
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) December 4, 2022
Nick McCloud has been great today. Should’ve been OPI on Dotson.
— NYG_PETE (@nyg_pete) December 4, 2022
Azeez Ojulari just wrecked Heinecke on the incompletion on third down.
Here’s fourth down for Washington.
— Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) December 4, 2022
Azeez Ojulari AGAIN with the QB hit on 3rd down. Dude is ballin
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) December 4, 2022
Heck of a play by Heinecke on that fourth down. Threw it to a spot just perfectly. And the chains move.
— Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) December 4, 2022
Pinnock and Moreau making huge plays right now
— Charlotte Carroll (@charlottecrrll) December 4, 2022
Brian Daboll takes a knee …..
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) December 4, 2022
Love Nick Gates but my man just got completely obliterated on that run…
— Alex Wilson (@AlexWilsonESM) December 4, 2022
What a huge stand for the #Giants defense. They’ll get the ball back. Washington is sending the punt team on.
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) December 4, 2022
Insane stop by the #Giants defense to force the punt…unreal play by Flott to slow down that screen
— Nick Falato (@nickfalato) December 4, 2022
Coming up: the Giants 6th chance to win the game by kicking a field goal
— el Jefé (@JefePil) December 4, 2022
How quickly can #Giants analytics team run playoff scenarios with a tie in this game for Brian Daboll…
— Ryan Dunleavy (@rydunleavy) December 4, 2022
Daniel Jones 3 for 3 for 29 yards so far on this drive
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) December 4, 2022
My man Isaiah Hodgins coming up CLUTCH right now — love the chemistry he’s built with Jones.
— Alex Wilson (@AlexWilsonESM) December 4, 2022
Brian Daboll, on 4th and 3 at the Commanders’ 45, isn’t going for it, isn’t kicking a FG ….
He’s taking a delay of game and punting …
Did you guys know Jake Fromm is on the Commanders?
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) December 4, 2022
Kayvon Thibodeaux with his second career sack
— Madelyn Burke (@MadelynBurke) December 4, 2022
A tie is a very good result for both the Commanders and Giants in this situation. They should be working toward this in a play or two.
— James Kratch (@JamesKratch) December 4, 2022
I can’t believe Heinecke held on to that
— Bobby Skinner (@BobbySkinner_) December 4, 2022
Oh my. Kayvon Thibodeaux just destroyed Heinicke . Nearly a walk-off safety. He’s down at the one.
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) December 4, 2022
The #Giants are to the Washington 40 …
10 seconds left.
Need 10 yards for a manageable field goal.

On comes Graham Gano for a 58-yard FG attempt
— Charlotte Carroll (@charlottecrrll) December 4, 2022
