The playoff hunt is heating up, even in the early weeks. Rich Dotson holds a 1-game lead over the pack:
A lot of hungry teams trying to avoid the bottom 3 elimination spots:

League Update after Week 3
• Top team: ReflipeWThenuz sitting at 6-0.
• Winless team(s): Every team has at least one tally in the win column.
• Playoff race note: We are shaping up for an extremely competitive playoff race. As things currently stand, DynastyRich is holding down the final spot with 4 squads within a single game in the standings.
Matchup of the Week | DynastyRich vs DynastyPrice

• Top performers: Garret got some key contributions from Garrett Wilson (20.90), Cam Skattebo (23.10), Jahmyr Gibbs (24.65), and, most importantly, Hunter Henry with an absurd (31.00) point effort.
• Bench blunder: The score could have been more lopsided had DynastyPrice switched out his QBs. Sam Darnold and Tyrod Taylor both scored over 20 points. They would have been upgrades over Dak Prescott and Michael Penix Jr. DynastyRich could have used the (16.80) point effort from Rashod Bateman, but it wouldn’t have changed the outcome.
• Commentary: In the battle of the Podcast Hosts, DynastyPrice took the W vs website owner and founder, DynastyRich. Garret managed to overcome a (0.00) point effort from Jauan Jennings thanks to some really big efforts from the players listed above. Rich simply could not overcome the single-digit point efforts by studs like Saquon Barkley, Drake London, and Trevor Lawrence.

Weekly Awards | Nerds App League Honors
• MVP of the Week: Caleb Williams and his (37.12) point effort took home weekly MVP honors for his manager, DynastyStump. This effort was key in a tight contest against Team MySleepers.
• Bench Blunder: It would not have changed the outcome, but the Team JaredWackerlyFF decision to leave Tre Tucker on his bench cost him (38.90) points, the highest single total of the week.
• Heartbreaker: Team Luxembourgh took one of the most heartbreaking losses of Week 3 in the Nerds App League. His squad was doomed by disappointing efforts from studs like Malik Nabers.
• Overachiever: Team Glosser13 was my overachiever of the week. A 65-yard flea-flicker bomb to Luther Burden helped get our IDP expert off the schneid.
• Underachiever: Team CouchScoutCoop was the underachiever of the week. He was let down in a major way by lackluster efforts and injuries to stars Tee Higgins, Ceedee Lamb, and Brock Bowers.
Manager Spotlight | Interview with Peter Monahan (Pistol_Pete026)

Q1: So, tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? What team do you root for? How long have you played Dynasty, and how long have you been with the Nerds?
A: As it happens, I am from the very same state as you, Doc. I currently reside in Dover, Delaware. I am a New York Giants fan. I have been playing Dynasty for 7 years at this point, and as of last year, I am in 14 total leagues. I have been with the Nerds for close to a year at this point. I am currently the Discord manager and a specialist on dynasty trades.

Q2: If you had to grade your startup draft in the Nerds App League, what grade would you give yourself?
A: I think I would be realistic and give myself a C. During the course of the draft, I made trades hoping to grab some elite players later in the process. I was hoping to end up with an elite QB, RB, and WR. Throughout the course of the draft, I may have passed on WR too often, given the starting requirements. It’s tough to fill 3 WRs and 4 Flex spots. So, if there is one area I would like to improve my team through trading, it’s at WR.
Q3: Give me your impressions of Week 3 in the Nerds App League?
A: I feel great with the bounce back performance in Week 3 after starting out 2-0, but then a tough Week 2 showing coupled with missing out on the Median by a few points to drop to 2-2. I actually ended up with the high score in the entire league for the week at 213.15 points. But most importantly, I feel great sitting at 4-2.
Q4: What do you think we can expect from your squad moving forward? Is there anything you would like to say to Taylor Christianson, your Week 4 opponent?
A: I really went all in this year with some of the trades I made in the startup draft. I feel great about my startup draft. I feel that my team can compete with any squad in the entire league on a weekly basis. However, I never take anything for granted, and anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday. Having to face Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry is never a matchup you want to see heading into the week. With AJ Brown also coming off a big game this past week, I’m hoping my team can keep pace with Taylor’s big 3.
Q5: Is there anything you would like to say to the NerdHerd as they follow you in the league this season?
A: Being that I am your Discord advice giver, I’d like to think and hope that I have the support of my fellow Nerds if/when the time comes for them to vote to save me from potential elimination from the league. I know they’ve got my back!

Storylines | Week 3 Takeaways
• Can anyone stop Team ReflipeWThenuz? Our loan undefeated team keeps on trucking along, collecting another two W’s and currently sitting at an impressive 6-0.
• Making the case for a reader save. I would argue that if any manager in the league is setting up for a reader save it is Team Luxembourgh. It is hard to judge a man who took over a squad AFTER the startup draft. I would argue he is deserving of a grace period.
• Trade drama incoming. Word on the street is that Trey Benson is currently on the block and being shopped due to his massive spike in value.
Trade of the Week

Trades were a bit down following a busy Week 3 slate of games. We did manage to get one deal done. Team ReflipeWThenuz acquired Terrance Ferguson from Team MySleepers for a future 4th. I was more than happy to make this deal, seeing Ferguson as a really nice stash option. He was the third TE taken in this past draft and has some really nice intangibles. This one might require some patience, but I like the prospect and was more than happy to pay the asking price. As for Team MySleepers, he is stacking draft picks in the next two drafts.

Elimination Watch | Bottom 3 in the Danger Zone
Team | Record | Key Outlook |
---|---|---|
Team Luxembourgh | 2-4 | Najee Harris going down hurts an already thin RB group. Needs better production from RJ Harvey to stay alive in the playoff hunt. |
Team CouchScoutsCoop | 1-5 | Omarion Hampton’s boost plus veteran depth could lift them off the bottom of the standings if positive trends continue. |
Team Glosser13 | 1-5 | The Trey Benson situation will be key—trade or play. Luckily, this is not an IDP league, or Glosser13 would dominate. |
The Danger Zone (Click for full breakdown):
• Team Luxembourgh → (2-4) This squad is in danger of finishing in the back half of the league. It is hard to judge a man who didn’t draft his squad, but life often isn’t fair. Najee Harris going down for the season really hurts an already thin RB group. He will need better efforts from RJ Harvey to stay alive.
• Team CouchScoutsCoop → (1-5) These guys managed to pull in their first W of the season, beating the average weekly score for Week 3. Omarion Hampton getting a big boost will help his weekly point output. This squad also has a healthy dose of useful veterans that should help boost it off the floor of the standings if things turn around.
• Team Glosser13→ (1-5) Our resident IDP expert has had a bit of a rough start to the season. He is currently a little bit thin in some spots, but it will be interesting to see how he plays out the Trey Benson situation. Will he trade him or will he play him? He has some options moving forward to get up off the mat. One thing is for certain: the rest of us are lucky that this is not an IDP league, as Glosser13 would run circles around us in those positions.

Giant discrepancy between Luxembourgh and JaredWackerlyFF for Week 4:

A lot of one-sided affairs going into Week 4 out of these matchups:

• Game of the Week prediction: Team MySleepers vs. Team Josh Allen & Bijan! is shaping up to be a real nail-biter in the Nerds App League. Sleeper is predicting a single-digit victory with a 4.19 point spread. Should be a doozy.
• Rivalry watch: Team DynastyDadMike and Team Dynasty Price look primed to establish a true rivalry in the Nerds App League. Both squads are currently sitting at 4-2 with quality players littered throughout their rosters. This one could have some interesting playoff ramifications down the line.
• Upset alert: Sleeper has the 6-0 undefeated Team ReflipeWThenuz on upset alert at the hands of the 1-5 CouchScoutsCoop. That is before CouchScoutsCoop even replaces CeeDee Lamb in his lineup. It will be interesting to see how close Sleeper is on this one after Week 4.
