Michael Harris leaves game with hamstring tightness

Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris left Friday’s game with an apparent leg injury after going first to third on a double by Ozzie Albies in the first inning. Harris appeared to grimace between second and third.

Like most of Atlanta’s hitters, it has been a tough start to the season for Harris at the plate, but he has shown signs of coming around in recent days. Harris extended his hitting streak to five-straight games with a single to leadoff the first inning. He advanced to third on a double by Ozzie Albies which is when the injury appeared to occur.

J.P. Martinez replaced Harris in the lineup. Atlanta has already lost Ronald Acuña Jr. to a season-ending injury in its outfield. Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall have seen the bulk of playing time in the corners in wake of Acuña’s injury. Atlanta only has four outfielders currently on their active roster, but also has Brian Anderson who has made a couple of starts in right field.

UPDATE – The Braves announced that Harris left the game with tightness in his left hamstring.
