The American Hockey League is saddened to learn of the passing of Mark Kirton, who died Sunday following a courageous battle with ALS. He was 67.
Kirton, who played 480 AHL games with New Brunswick, Adirondack, Fredericton and Newmarket between 1978 and 1989, was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis – also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease – in 2018.
