Lee Corso to miss 'College GameDay' for health reasons again

ESPN’s “College GameDay” program will again be without legendary personality Lee Corso this Saturday.

“Lee Corso will not travel to Jackson State for ‘College GameDay’ this week due to a health issue,” ESPN explained Friday afternoon in a released statement. “Coach Corso is in good spirits, and he hopes to be back on the road with the crew soon.”

This week’s edition of “College GameDay” is associated with a matchup between the Southern University Jaguars and Jackson State University Tigers held in Jackson, Mississippi.

ESPN’s Rece Davis offered an update on the 87-year-old later in the day.

“LC is dealing with a few little health issues,” Davis said in a video he posted on Twitter, as shared by Chris Rosvoglou of The Spun. “They’re taken care of, from what I’m told. We’re looking forward to having him back on that set with us and putting on those headgears in no time. Send out your best wishes to LC, but he’s in great spirits and we’re looking forward to having him back soon. We’ll certainly miss him Saturday morning from Jackson on ‘College GameDay.'”

This will be the third time this month Corso has missed “College GameDay” for reasons related to his health. He “woke up feeling under the weather” ahead of the Oct. 1 broadcast and then required “another week to recuperate” the subsequent Saturday.
