Weight: 190 lbs

Kevin “KC” Concepcion entered the collegiate ranks as a 3-star recruit out of Chambers High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He initially committed to North Carolina State, where he spent the first three seasons of his career. It was evident from the start that this was a special player. In his freshman season with the Wolfpack, he broke the school’s freshman records for both catches and yards with his 71 grabs for 839 yards and 10 scores. Almost equally impressive, though, was the fact that the youngster also chipped in an extra 41 carries for 320 rushing yards. Despite his amazing start, a down sophomore season had him seek greener pastures elsewhere and transfer to Texas A&M.

As you can tell from the numbers above, the transfer to the Aggies was a resounding success. Concepcion put up career highs in both receiving yards and yards per catch. He didn’t get as many rushing attempts as during his freshman year, but he shone as a return specialist, boosting his national profile. He won 1st Team All-SEC honors at Wide Receiver, Return Specialist, and All-Purpose Player. He was dynamic enough to win the coveted Paul Hornung Award. This prestigious award is given annually to the most versatile player in college football.

Rookie Profile | Strengths And Weaknesses

As you would expect for someone who wins an award for his versatility, there is quite a bit to like about KC Concepcion’s game. One of the first things you will notice is that he is very twitchy. This speed in and out of his breaks allows him to play on both the inside and outside. Although he is a much more natural fit in the slot. Just check out the route and catch below playing against Notre Dame. Despite being on the smaller side for receivers, Concepcion is willing to mix it up with bigger defenders to leave his mark in the game. You didn’t see this out of his Texas A&M film, but Concepcion is also an extremely capable playmaker out of the backfield. You won’t see any of his rushing in his Texas A&M film, but do yourself a favor and check out some of his freshman film.

As I mentioned above, Concepcion is a natural fit as a slot receiver in the NFL. His quick-twitch ability will make him a hard assignment for any nickel corner. He also appears to possess enough juice to play on the outside as well. His style reminds me a lot of Baltimore’s Zay Flowers. In 2025, he brought his return chops to the table. He is one of only a handful of players in all of college football to have multiple return TDs this past season. The common denominator between his receiving, rushing, and return success is sudden separation. He is so quick that he can create space, which is the name of the game in today’s NFL.

KC Concepcion | All-22 Film Breakdown

The Dynasty Nerds film room is one of the top resources in the entire industry. Now I think the writers like myself and the podcast hosts are dynamite, but the film room is a truly game-changing resource. If you are going to scout KC Concepcion, I would suggest you start with the monster game he had against South Carolina.

Right from the jump, you see his toughness. He displays his separation skills off the line of scrimmage, then brings in an over-the-shoulder dime and gets crunched between the corner and the safety. If you are going to be small in the NFL, you better be tough, and he is that. His YAC ability and formation flexibility are also on full display as you can find him making plays on the outside or taking shallow crossing patterns and eating up defenders as he works his way down the field for extra yards. While he is never going to be confused with Hines Ward as a blocker, he does display the willingness to mix it up with defenders in the running game. He also showed us his main concern: that he gets the drops from time to time.

Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots

KC Concepcion is a dynamic playmaker. Some have him going in the 1st Round of the upcoming NFL Draft. For me, that feels a bit rich. I believe there are too many traditional X-type receivers in this class for him to go quite that high. But I do believe he will be a great 2nd-round pick for an NFL squad. He would be an amazing fit with the Jets or Steelers, both of whom have a strong X that needs a running mate to help take the pressure off and eat up the soft coverage left in their wake. The Philadelphia Eagles would also make a lot of sense if they move on from disgruntled star A.J. Brown. Wherever Concepcion ends up, he will be a fun player to watch and an exciting dynasty player.
