An injury to Aaron Rodgers opened the door for Jordan Love to quarterback the Packers and NFL Twitter couldn’t wait to see his stuff.
It’s been a rough season for the Green Bay Packers. They came into Sunday Night Football against the Eagles at 4-7. Aaron Rodgers was playing well below MVP level, whether because of his thumb injury or the lack of receiver talent available to him.
It got to the point that some fans wanted to see Jordan Love take over for the starter just to see what he was capable of.
Well, on Sunday they got their wish.
Rodgers suffered an oblique injury in the second half and was unable to return. That meant it was Love time. NFL Twitter was ready for it.

No one knew what to expect from Love but he came in and made an immediate impression.
The backup completed his first three passes, including a 63-yard touchdown to Christian Watson. That score put the Packers in range of the Eagles, who let 37-30. However, the defense couldn’t hold and allowed a field goal.
In the end, Philadelphia held on to win, 40-33.
Love finished 6-of-9 for 113 yards and a touchdown. To be fair, his stat line could have been even better than that if not for an Aaron Jones drop.
It was a very promising performance, especially if Rodgers’ injury is serious enough to keep in out of future games. If Love starts, and plays the way he did in brief action on Sunday, the Packers playoff hopes could remain. Of course, he has to follow throw and play at that level the next time he has a chance.
