Jermaine Eluemunor sends epic tweet after New York Giants-Lions fights

From the moment he inked a two-year, $14 million free agent deal with the New York Giants in March, offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor has acted like he belongs.

The former Las Vegas Raider made it clear that he’s a team player from the start. He wants to help the Giants succeed in any way that he can.

“I’m willing to do whatever I need to do for the team. I’m really happy to be here, so I told Dabes (Brian Daboll) and Joe (Schoen), when I came here, wherever they need me is where I am going to play,” he told reporters earlier this year.

And right now Eluemunor, who was signed to play guard, is the starting right tackle with Evan Neal (ankle) still on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

On Monday, at the joint practice with the Detroit Lions that was filled with brawls and other altercations, Eluemunor was right smack in the middle of the action.

Eluemunor has played well in Neal’s absence and could possibly end up usurping the Giants’ plans to force-feed Neal — a former top 10 pick — to Giant Nation. Schoen signed veteran interior lineman Greg Van Roten this week, meaning they might just keep Elumunor at tackle.

The Giants are the sixth stop in the 29-year-old Eluemunor’s career, which began in 2017. He hopes it will be his last. If he plays like he did against Aiden Hutchinson on Monday, he just might be here for more than two seasons.

Early on, Eluemunor is certainly endearing himself to his teammates and the fans.
