Good luck on the last three days of the season. It’s a 6-month grind and we all deserve a little gratification. It’s always nice to reflect on the year that was. So, who surprised you the most this season (good or bad)? Which player are you really excited for next season?
In terms of advice this week; just remember you can’t FAAB with you and if a pitcher isn’t starting, replace him with someone who might.
Notable Schedules:
Four games: Tigers, Yankees, Mariners, Rangers
10/12 Team Adds
Bailey Ober (MIN/SP) – Ober has been terrific since coming off the IL. He will face with White Sox, whom, he just threw 7.1 scoreless and 10 k’s against.
Nathan Eovaldi (BOS/SP) – Boston doesn’t have a reason to push Eovaldi deep into the game. However, he should get you at least 4 innings. Which is more than I can say about a lot of guys this week.
Aaron Civale (CLE/SP) – Civale has allowed 2 ERs in each of his last 3 starts. He has a good chance of staying strong against the Royals this week.
Michael Lorenzen (LAA/SP) – Lorenzen threw 5 scoreless with 8 ks against Oakland on Wednesday. He’ll get another shot at them in Oakland, on Tuesday.
Hayden Wesneski (CHC/SP) – Small sample but looks legit. He’ll look to finish his season strong against the Reds.
Bryce Elder (ATL/SP) – Elder threw a shutout his last time out against the Nationals. He’ll get an equally inept opponent in the Marlins this week.
Adrian Sampson (CHC/SP) – Sampson has a 1.50 ERA since September 1st. Let’s hope his regression can wait another start. He’ll get the Reds to close out the season on Wednesday.
Tyler Glasnow (TBR/SP) – Three innings in his last outing. Should get another start this week. Probably won’t qualify for the win but quality innings.
Relievers
These are relievers I am interested in filling in if I can’t land starters;
Andres Munoz / Matt Brash / Diego Castillo (SEA)
Jimmy Herget (LAA) – chance for saves
Domingo Acevedo (OAK) – chance for saves
Dylan Floro (MIA) – chance for saves
David Bednar (PIT) – chance for saves
Jonathan Loaisiga (NYY)
Giovanny Gallegos (STL)
Yency Almonte (LAD)
Freddy Peralta (MIL)
Hunter Brown (HOU)
Hitters
Oswaldo Cabrera (NYY/2B,OF) – Cabrera has slashed .250/.313/.434 in his first 150 MLB PAs (5 homers and 3 steals).
Dylan Moore (SEA/SS,2B,OF) – Moore isn’t much of a hitter but he has plenty of speed to offer and four games this week.
Lars Nootbaar (STL/OF) – The Cardinals will face three mediocre righties to end the season.
15 Team Adds
Nate Eaton (KC/3B,OF) – Eaton has good speed and slashed .300/.371/.433 over the last 14 days. Don’t expect much in the way of power as he has only one homer in 96 ABs this year.
Conner Capel (OAK/OF) – Hot bat, but could only play two games this week.
Graham Ashcraft (CIN/SP) – Brutal in his previous outing but gets a soft matchup against the Cubs this week.
