Kemba Walker was traded to the Pistons back in early July, but he was waived by the team just this week.
Even though he was officially a member of the team for two months, there was never a plan to keep him, Detroit’s head coach Dwane Casey reveals.
The reason for that is there are two young point guards on the roster already that need playing time. “We had just gotten Jaden Ivey and Cade Cunningham, it wouldn’t have made sense,” Casey said, per Omari Sankofa II.
