Dallas Cowboys now have a potential OBJ replacement ready to go

What will Cowboys depth chart look like if Odell Beckham Jr. signs?

Tom Ryle and David Howman explored the reasons why both sides may be shy to commit just yet, including the fact that OBJ is recovering from a second ACL tear on the same ligament and refused to undergo physical tests during his Cowboys visit.

With the idea that a multi-year contract is more about the future than the present, Cowboys fans  can envision OBJ as a future franchise staple rather than a current playoff boost. That offers context to the team’s most recent move, which was to active wide receiver James Washington from IR so that he can face the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys have a 2022 plan in place with or without OBJ

This is the first glimpse Dallas fans will have of Washington, as the 26-year-old wideout has been on IR since August 31. After signing with the team on March 18, the former Pittsburgh Steeler fractured his fifth metatarsal during training camp and has been out ever since.

Thankfully, the Cowboys were able to see Washington on the field sooner than NBA star Zion Williamson was able to return to the court for his metatarsal fracture, and Washington couldn’t come at a better time. Washington will join CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup as Dallas vies for an NFC playoff spot. Versus the Texans, and with Washington, it seems the Cowboys are in the perfect position to make a postseason push — with or without Odell Beckham Jr.
