The SEC takes center stage this weekend as we get our first No. 1 vs. No. 2 game in the regular season since 2019. Tennessee takes its vaunted offense to Athens to face Georgia’s superb defense in what will be the biggest game to date this season. The last time we got a 1-vs-2 matchup during the season was when LSU beat Alabama in 2019 … and we get Alabama traveling to LSU this Saturday. Alabama lost to Tennessee a few weeks ago in an instant classic while LSU has slowly built itself to be tied (with Bama and Ole Miss) at the top of the SEC West.
The only other matchup of ranked teams is in Raleigh between two teams who have run into some tough times. Wake Forest had a historically bad third quarter in a loss to Louisville last week and will try to get back on track against an NC State team that’s dealing with losing quarterback Devin Leary for the season.
This could be a wild week — there are 16 ranked teams that will be playing on the road, including 7 of the top 10.
So here are the players to watch for a possible wild week 10.
