Chris Broussard: "Russell Westbrook as a role player is never going to shoot well"

Russell Westbrook couldn’t buy a shot against the Clippers. The former NBA MVP missed all of 11 shot attempts and finished the game with 2 points, both from free-throws.

After the game he described his performance as solid, likely referring to the defensive side of the game. Sports analyst Chris Broussard agrees with such assessment.

However, he thinks that the Lakers should not expect Westbrook to make shots while being a role player because he needs to be in a rhythm for that.

“Russ was solid against the Clippers. … The Lakers want Russ to be a role player. And Russell Westbrook as a role player is never going to shoot well. If that’s what they want they’re going to get nights like this,” Broussard said on First Things First.
