In what was possibly the most unknown lineup release all year, Sean Murphy and Austin Riley return to the lineup from their respective injuries, with Murphy being activated off the IL this morning. Austin Riley will bat second (where he only has four career plate appearances, all in one game) and Murphy slots in at fifth, keeping Marcell Ozuna batting third, where he has been with Riley out. Adam Duvall will play in right field, batting sixth against the lefty starter, with Jarred Kelenic batting ninth and facing his first lefty starter of the season with Acuna out for the year. Ozzie Albies replaces Acuna at the top of the lineup, although it remains to be seen if that is just against lefties or an everyday occurrence.
Meanwhile the Nationals lineup features a mixture of youth and mercenary veterans. Braves’ legend Eddie Rosario bats cleanup for them, with breakouts CJ Abrams leading off and Luis Garcia batting third. Former Brave Lane Thomas bats second playing right field and Joey Gallo bats eighth at first base.
