The Atlanta Braves are facing yet another left-handed starter from the Marlins in Trevor Rogers tonight as they go for a victory in game two of the series. It has been made quite clear to this point that Brian Snitker is running out platoons based on if they will be facing a RHP or LHP starter.
The lineup is no different this evening with Adam Duvall getting his usual start against lefties, as well as David Fletcher manning the keystone instead of Luis Guillorme versus a LHP as Ozzie Albies is still working his way back.
Ten different players on the Braves’ roster have faced Rogers before. Of the ten Ronald Acuña and Travis d’Arnaud have had the most success. Acuña has had eleven at bats against Rogers where he has hit .455 with one HR and an OPS of 1.480. Of all ten hitters who has seen Rogers d’Arnaud has had the most success against him. He has a .500 average, one HR, and a 1.583 OPS so far in twelve at bats. Austin Riley has seen him the most with seventeen at bats with an .866 OPS and has a HR, so maybe this can be a good time for Riley to get hot.
The Marlins haven’t released their lineup yet, but we will add it as soon as it becomes available.
First pitch is at 7:20 p.m. ET at Truist Park and can be seen on Bally Sports South.
