Introducing Ethan Bagwell

Ethan Bagwell is a bigger bodied prep arm without a ton of projection remaining, but has a fastball up to 97 MPH – though he typically sat more mid-90’s. He’s also got a slider that has flashed as an interesting pitch, but will need to be more consistent. The changeup is a pitch he hasn’t used much yet, but there is some promise there as well even if it does need a little work. Bagwell is a pitcher that’s a bit raw and comes from a cold weather state, but there is something to work with for the Missouri commit.

First Reaction

Bagwell is a bit of a lottery ticket. He’s a prep arm with some interesting tools, but he will certainly need a lot of work, with the Braves are hoping they can get him to the top end of his velocity more frequently while getting more consistent with the secondaries and improving the command. In the sixth round that’s never a bad addition.
