The Atlanta Braves announced a trio of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Braves selected the contract of Grant Holmes and optioned lefty reliever Ray Kerr to Gwinnett. To open up a spot on the 40-man roster, Atlanta recalled Huascar Ynoa and then placed him on the 60-day injured list with a stress reaction in his elbow.

Holmes will serve as a fresh arm that can work multiple innings if needed. He began the season in the bullpen at Gwinnett but recently shifted to the rotation. He’s pitched well overall posting a 2.63 ERA and a 3.41 FIP to go along with a 30.4% strikeout rate in 41 innings.
Kerr walked three and allowed a run in the ninth inning of Saturday’s win over Tampa. He’s had a mixed bag as a starter and a reliever during his latest stint in the majors. He’s appeared in 10 games overall and has a 5.64 ERA and a 4.40 FIP in 22 1⁄3 innings.
It is disappointing news for Ynoa, who missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. His last appearance at Gwinnett was on April 14 and he has been on the injured list ever since. He appeared in three games to start the season and allowed 11 hits and seven runs in 9 2⁄3 innings before going on the injured list.
