The #Braves today recalled RH Allan Winans to Atlanta after optioning LH Dylan Dodd to Triple-A Gwinnett last night.

Winans’ last major league start came on April 11 against the Mets where he was tagged for six earned runs in five innings. Since then, he has put up good numbers at Gwinnett with a 2.74 ERA and a 4.04 FIP in 15 games and 82 innings. Winans comes in pitching well having allowed just one earned run over his last 10 1⁄3 innings at Gwinnett.
Dodd was promoted to the active roster Sunday when Max Fried was placed on the injured list to provide a fresh arm. He returns to Gwinnett without appearing in a game.
The original thinking was that Winans would be the 27th man for the doubleheader. By promoting him, it opens up the possibility of someone like Daysbel Hernandez being added to the bullpen for today’s games.
