As expected, the Atlanta Braves placed outfielder Michael Harris on the 10-day injured list Saturday. Harris suffered a left hamstring strain during the first inning of Friday’s win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Brian Snitker confirmed after the game that Harris would be going on the IL and that he would undergo additional testing Saturday to determine the severity of the injury. Atlanta selected the contract of Ramon Laureano to fill Harris’ spot on the active roster. Spencer Strider was transferred to the 60-day injured list to open up a 40-man roster spot.

Like most of his teammates, it has been a tough start to the season for Harris but he was showing signs of coming around prior to the injury. He extending his hitting streak to five-straight games with a first inning single Friday. Overall, he’s hitting .250/.295/.358 with five home runs and an 84 wRC+ in 67 games.
Laureano began the season with Cleveland but released after hitting just .143/.265/.229 in 31 games. He signed a minor league deal with Atlanta on May 29 and was hitting .362/.424/.603 with three home runs in 14 games at Gwinnett.
The Braves have some options for center but none as good as Harris. J.P. Martinez replaced Harris in Friday’s game. Both Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall could also see time there as well. Ozzie Albies will likely move into the full time role in the leadoff spot while Harris is out.
