Prior to today’s game against the New York Mets, Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried was seen doing long-toss in the outfield, a promising sign that the injured Braves ace could be on a path to return early next month.
Fried, who is a free agent after the season, was placed on the IL on July 21, 2024, with left forearm neuritis. An All-Star for the third time in his career this season, Fried had started 18 games for Atlanta, providing them with 108 innings with a 1.16 WHIP.
Fried would be eligible to be activated from the IL this upcoming Friday, although the team has not yet stated wither or not they expect him to be ready.
