MLB has announced that Atlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias was named National League Reliever of the Month for August 2024.
Iglesias was perfect in 13.1 inning pitched during the month allowing no runs and striking out 14. During the month he yielded only two hits and allowed no walks. He was coming off of a July in which he allowed only one run in 10 innings with 11 strikeouts.
For the season, he has worked in 53 games, picking up 28 saves with a ridiculous 0.607 WHIP with a sterling 1.29 ERA.
This is his third Reliever of the Month award in his career, the last coming one year ago, when he was the August 2023 Reliever of the Month in the National League.
