Braves, Cardinals rained out, will play doubleheader Wednesday

Tuesday’s game between the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals has been postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams will play a split doubleheader on Wednesday with the first game scheduled to get underway at 1:45 p.m. ET. The second game will start at 7:15 p.m. ET.

The Braves dropped the series opener Monday 4-3. After Wednesday’s twin bill, they will have to fly to Chicago for a make up game from April against the Chicago White Sox before returning to Truist Park on Friday.

Reynaldo López will start Game 1 on Wednesday and Bryce Elder will get the start in Game 2. That will push Chris Sale back to Thursday’s game in Chicago.

The AJC’s Justin Toscano reports that the Braves planned to start Bryce Elder Wednesday all along, but now will have the luxury of doing so with him as the 27th man for the doubleheader.
