Braves add Parker Dunshee, Eli White to roster, designate Eddie Rosario for assignment

The Atlanta Braves announced several roster moves ahead of Thursday’s series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers. The team selected the contract of right-hander Parker Dunshee and recalled outfielder Eli White. To make room on the active roster, Atlanta optioned Dylan Dodd back to Gwinnett and designated outfielder Eddie Rosario for assignment.

Dunshee is a 29-years old who has split the 2024 season between Mississippi and Gwinnett. He’s pitched well for the Stripers posting a 2.51 ERA and a 2.57 FIP in 32 13 innings across 16 appearances. Dunshee was a seventh round selection of the Oakland Athletics in 2017 and has also spent time with the Giants as part of their minor league system.

White played sparingly during his previous time on the active roster going 3-for-13 at the plate over nine games. He was hitting .291/.392/.455 with eight homers and a 123 wRC+ in 65 games at Gwinnett. White will likely stick as a reserve outfielder until Michael Harris is ready to return next week.

The Braves added Rosario after he was let go by the Nationals in hope that he could rediscover some of his past magic. Unfortunately he struggled going 12-for-78 at the plate with 23 strikeouts in 24 games with Atlanta. Between the Braves and the Nationals, Rosario is hitting .175/.215/.316 with a 44 wRC+ in 91 games.

Dodd allowed two runs in two innings during Wednesday’s 8-5 loss to the Brewers after he was called up Wednesday to serve as a fresh arm for the bullpen.
