Monday featured two of the best National League pitchers so far this season facing off against each other in Shota Imanaga of the Cubs and Reynaldo López of the Braves. And both pitchers continued their excellent efforts so far this season in a 2-0 victory for Atlanta. The Braves offense, thanks to newcomer Zach Short and Ronald Acuna Jr., did just enough to get the runs needed to win.
Of course, the Braves bullpen did an excellent job as well. The Cubs entered Monday with the second best OPS vs left-handed pitching in the majors this season, but southpaws Ray Kerr, Dylan Lee, and AJ Minter shut the door to earn the shutout. It was especially to see Minter earn the save after incurring the loss on Sunday. Through this win, the Braves are now 14-4 in Atlanta, the best home record in baseball.
