Monday brought with it more disappointing injury news for Atlanta, both before and during the 4-3 loss to the Cardinals on Monday night. The Braves valiant comeback attempt should have been the news of the evening, but that was not to be the case.
Early on Monday, the Braves announced Ray Kerr, who had shown some highly intriguing flashes as a starter and reliever earlier this season, will undergo Tommy John Surgery. Kerr is the latest significant arm in the franchise to suffer this fate this season.
During the game, shortstop Orlando Arcia exited early due to dizziness. Justin Toscano of the AJC detailed that Arcia could be given at least a day off to regain full health.
