The Braves have won four straight this week, which is a nice bounce-back after a rough west coast trip last week. While the offense seems like it is waking up to some extent, it is worth mentioning that the recipe for winning this week has been much more about pitching than offense, with the Braves scoring 4, 5, 4, and 4 runs in this week’s games and holding opponents to 2, 0, 2, and 1 runs respectively. This is worth saying both to give credit to Atlanta’s pitching staff, which has largely been really good this season (save for a couple of blowups) and to point out that the offense may not be entirely out of the woods yet. While the offense has at least consistently put up solif run totals in this mini-winning-streak, it hasn’t exactly been putting up gaudy numbers either. Hopefully we see the pitching continue to do it’s job quite well and this is part of the gradual reappearance of the Braves’ offense we are used to.
