The homestand has come to an end and the Atlanta Braves head down south for a three-game set against the Miami Marlins. The Braves enter play with a 7-4 record and are 3-2 on the road. The Marlins, however, are 2-11 and have yet to win a game at their home field.
The series gets underway tonight at 7:10 ET with Max Fried on the mound. Fried has had a slow start to the season and has put up a hefty 18.00 ERA through five frames. He faces off against left-hander Trevor Rogers.
Game two is set for Saturday, April 13 at 4:10 ET. The Braves turn to Chris Sale, who has been a nice addition to the rotation thus far. The Marlins are sending out Max Meyer, the club’s 2020 first round pick.
The series finale will take place Sunday, April 14 at 1:40 ET. Charlie Morton is on the bump after a less than ideal start against the New York Mets earlier this week. Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo gets the nod for the Fish.
Heading into the road trip, the Braves have a few unanswered questions when it comes to the starting rotation and even the bullpen. So, a move ahead of tonight’s series opener isn’t out of the question.
