Atlanta Braves News: Charlie Morton’s Excellent in loss, Travis d’Arnaud placed on paternity list, more

Monday was another accurate yet highly frustrating microcosm of how this season has gone for the Braves.

A nonexistent offense wasting another superb pitching performance resulted in a 1-0 loss to the Reds, while the Mets won and are once again one game up for the final spot in the NL Wild Card race.

No, the Braves postseason chances are not over and they very much still control their own destiny. But with how frequently this offense has severely struggled to score runs, it is hard to have faith they will eventually improve to the level they need to in order to secure a playoff spot.

Now headed out on the road to Washington, this lineup seems some sort of spark. And it must happen sooner rather than later.
