It always seems like the whenever the Toronto Blue Jays make the trek to One Tropicana Drive, some kind of miscue results in the Rays winning a close ballgame due to the result of it.
The same case can be made Tuesday night.
In a 2-1 ballgame in the fourth inning, courtesy to a Yandy Diaz’s two-run homer in the first, Richie Palacios hit a fly ball to shallow left field that was assumed to be the second out of the inning, turned into a two-run single because of a very odd miscue by left fielder Jesus Sanchez.
The inning would snowball into three more Rays runs, and would ultimately decide the ballgame.
42 year-old Blue jays right-hander Max Scherzer, aka, Mad Max, was incensed.
Toronto would plate four in the fifth, and another in the sixth, nut it ultimately came down to Bryan Baker shutting the door for his 25 consecutive save in a nail-biter of a bottom of the ninth to close the ballgame by a final score of 7-6.
