GDT: Tampa Bay should just never trade with Philadelphia

There are couple of really bad trades in Rays franchise history and the Philadelphia Phillies are responsible for at least two of the them.

During the expansion draft, the Devil Rays sent Bobby Abreu to Philadelphia for Kevin Stocker. That move turned out badly, but at least Stocker was a competent shortstop for a bit and even led the league in batting average for a time in 1999. Then you have some other duds like sending Jose Alvarado and Wilson Ramos to the Phillies in seperate deals that didn’t give the Rays much of a return.

Lastly, there’s the Christopher Sanchez for Curtis Mead deal which may just turn out to be worse than the aforementioned Abreu trade.

First pitch against the Philadelphia Phillies is at 1:05 at BayCare Ballpark and the Phillies will be providing tv coverage.
