Height: 6’2”
Weight: 220 lbs.
Chis Bell is one of the hardest prospects to evaluate heading into the 2026 NFL draft. Bell is something of a rarity in today’s college football landscape. He entered the collegiate ranks as a mid-level 3-star recruit out of Greenville Christian School in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He chose the Cardinals over a handful of other power-five programs including Mississippi State and Maryland. The unique part is that Bell stayed his entire four-year career with one school. He saw steady improvement each and every season, as you can see below.

You can easily see from the numbers above that this is a player who was building on his success each year. Bell is a physical player reminiscent of Deebo Samuel
or Anquan Boldin. One of the most physical receivers in the class, he was thought of for some time as a potential 1st round NFL draft pick. However, a late-season knee injury has seen his stock take a significant hit. That torn ACL occurred against SMU on November 22. This means he will almost certainly miss a chunk of next season. He is the ultimate stash-and-see player.

Rookie Profile | Strengths and Weaknesses
We have discussed a bit of his pedigree above, but the question remains: exactly what type of player are we really talking about? The first thing that stands out to me when you look at the clip below is how strongly he runs with the ball after the catch. He routinely breaks arm tackles running with the power more reminiscent of a running back. He uses every bit of his 220 lb frame. He also has really strong late hands. That means that he waits until the last possible minute to stretch out his arms and snag the ball without letting it get into his body. The injury will prevent us from getting a true gauge on just how fast Bell is, but based on prior reports and game film, I would guess that he runs somewhere in the upper 4.4 40 time frame.
Bell operated as a true X at Louisville, and I believe that is what he will profile as at the next level as well. The real question is which team will give him a chance to play at the NFL level and how much of an investment they will make. There have been some interesting rumors swirling around the combine about his future. One report had current Saints QB and Bell’s previous college QB Tyler Shough
lobbying for the Saints to select the talented playmaker. Another report has the Broncos considering him as high as the end of the 1st round. That should tell you the type of player we are talking about.
The biggest weakness I can pick out of his film is that he is not quick and bursty. He has more of a built up speed in his game. But that is to be expected when dealing with this type of WR. He also never managed to have that one big season in the collegiate ranks. He built on his success and got better every year but he never seemed to peak.
Chris Bell | All-22 Film Breakdown
Dynasty Nerds offers a ton of amazing resources for the dedicated dynasty manager. Fantastic articles, rankings, and our revolutionary Team building app. But, the most useful resource in my opinion is our amazing collection of All 22nd film. This database allows you to watch condensed games for the prospects you want to evaluate. You get to see every play they are in the game do they try when they don’t get the ball are they just a couple big highlight player or do they consistently succeed?
When watching film on Chris Bell you have some traits that immediately stand out. I am going to specifically look to the game against Miami because they were in the National Title Game and one of the best teams in the nation. Bell scorched the Canes accounting for 136 yards and a pair for scores on 9 total grabs. You will immediately notice in this film that Bell has inside/outside versatility. Meaning he will be able to kick into the slot at the NFL level.
When Bell gets his hands on the ball he plays like a running back. Defenders are going to have to make us of form tackling because this guy will run through arm tackles in the secondary and rack up some yac. He does a really good job of using his hands off the line of scrimmage in his release package. When I watch him play I see a willing blocker. He will need to improve his technique but he is more than willing to mix it up to assist the run game. That will help him get on the field once he is back to full health.
Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots
The biggest wild card for Chris Bell is health. Having torn his ACL so late in the season, 2026 looks like it will be a lost year. That is going to effect his draft stock. Just how much will depend on if truly peaked the interest of a GM somewhere in the league. I don’t believe that we will see him go in the 1st round but I do believe there is a legitimate chance he could hear his name called on day 2 of the draft. The Saints feel like a really good spot in the 2nd round. If he gets that type of draft Capital he will be worthy of a 2nd round pick in your dynasty leagues as well.
