Elijah Sarratt attended Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, Virginia, before transferring to Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, prior to his senior year. Elijah Sarratt was an unrated recruit in the 2022 class who did not receive any initial FBS scholarship offers.

Elijah Sarratt began his collegiate career in the FCS at Saint Francis. As a true freshman, he hauled in 42 catches for 700 yards and tied the program’s single-season record with 13 receiving touchdowns, earning FCS Freshman All-America and First-team All-NEC. Rookie Profile | Strengths and Weaknesses
At 6’2’’, Elijah Sarratt is a big-bodied receiver who is a reliable receiving option. Nicknamed Waffle House because, like the popular chain restaurant, he’s known for being open and available to catch passes in big moments, a name given to him by his teammates and embraced by him for his clutch play. Sarratt displays alignment versatility, with the ability to play outside thanks to his contested-catch ability and outstanding body control. His size and strength allow him to win through contact and maintain excellent body control in the air. He can also play as a “power slot” with his reliance on route technicality and ability to find soft spots in zone coverage. In terms of player comparisons, I see a Michael Pittman

floor.
Sarratt has good but not great speed. He is not going to consistently threaten NFL secondaries vertically and has average run-after-the-catch ability. Sarratt also appears to be a better complementary wide receiver rather than a true alpha. Sarratt needs to continue to refine his release package as he will not always be able to overpower physical defensive backs.

Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots
After looking at other fantasy analysts’ wide receiver rankings, I am amongst the highest on Sarratt. Currently, he is my WR7 in this draft class. Elijah Sarratt is projected as a mid-to-late second-round pick in the NFL Draft, with a possibility to slide into the early third round. If San Francisco doesn’t address the wide receiver position in the first round, I think Sarratt would be a great fit in Kyle Shanahan’s system. In terms of rookie drafts, I have Sarratt as an early-to-mid second-round pick. As a matter of fact, I put my money where my mouth is and selected Sarratt with the 2.01 in our most recent Dynasty Nerds Mock Draft.
