Mike Washington Jr | Running Back | Arkansas
Height: 6’2’’
Weight: 223 lbs
Mike Washington Jr. attended Cicero–North Syracuse High School in Cicero, New York, where he played running back and defensive end. Washington Jr. earned All-State honors in high school with 1,423 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. He committed to Buffalo as a two-star recruit in 2021. He led the Bulls in rushing as a redshirt freshman in 2022 with 625 yards and seven touchdowns.

After the 2023 season, he entered the transfer portal and transferred to New Mexico State University. In his Senior season, Washington Jr. transferred to the Arkansas Razorbacks, where he saw career highs in all statistical categories. He became the 16th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards and was named Second-team All-SEC. Washington Jr. achieved back-to-back 100-yard games against Tennessee and Texas A&M, becoming the first Razorback to do so against SEC opponents since Alex Collins.

Rookie Profile | Strengths and Weaknesses
Somehow, at 6’2” 223 lbs, Mike Washington Jr. was overlooked by many during his senior season at Arkansas. As a Razorback fan, there weren’t many memorable moments in our season, so I can understand that the media attention wasn’t on Arkansas. The first thing that you notice when you watch Washington Jr’s game is his burst and acceleration. Once he hits the rushing lanes, he quickly reaches his top speed. His strengths do not stop there; he is a weapon in the receiving game as well, giving him three-down running back appeal.
Mike Washington Jr. has been the only Senior Bowl running back of note.
At 6’2”, 228 lbs, he wastes no movement and is a more than adequate pass catcher. Top four, if not top three, running back.pic.twitter.com/pBWaKaT0Cg

Mike Washington Jr. does have some flaws to his game. One glaring weakness is ball security. Over his college career, he has 10 total fumbles. He also has some wear on his tires with nearly 600 carries on his college resume. In terms of player comparisons for Washington Jr., I see many similarities between his game and that of former Raiders running back Latavius Murray. NFL.com Lance Zierlein compares Mike Washington Jr. to Chris Carson.

Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots
Currently, I have Mike Washington Jr. as my RB4 during the predraft process. In a weak running back class, Washington Jr has the chance to be a 3rd Round draft pick in the NFL Draft, but I believe 4th Round draft capital is the more likely outcome. The Cincinnati Bengals would be a nice landing spot for Washington Jr., as his skill set would complement Chase Brown’s well. In terms of drafting Washington Jr. in your rookie drafts, if he gets good draft capital, I would feel comfortable taking him as a middle to late 2nd-round selection.
