Zachariah Branch | Wide Receiver | University of Georgia

Height: 5’10’’
Weight: 180 lbs

Zachariah Branch was a five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2023 college football recruiting class, ranked No. 6 nationally by ESPN and No. 9 by 247Sports. He was the top wide receiver in the class.  At Bishop Gorman High School, Branch showed his athletic gifts beyond football, becoming a state champion in the 100m, 200m, and long jump. Branch was recorded on a treadmill sprint at 26 miles per hour, close to Usain Bolt’s top speed. As a true freshman at USC, Branch was a First-team All-American, First-team All-Pac-12, and was awarded the Jet Award, which is awarded to the top return specialist. In 2025, Branch transferred to Georgia, where he set career highs in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns, making him a Second-team All-SEC selection.

Rookie Profile | Strengths and Weaknesses

If you have a need for speed, you will love Zachariah Branch. Branch potentially has the fastest game speed among the 2026 rookie class, making him a dangerous offensive weapon. He also displays elite athleticism on tape, highlighted by his exceptional change-of-direction skills, quick feet, and stop-start ability that make him difficult to tackle in space and deadly after the catch. While Branch’s speed is often highlighted, his reliable hands are often overlooked.  Branch is also a valuable contributor on special teams as a game-changing punt and kick returner.

Branch can continue to improve his route tree, as he was not asked to run complex routes at Georgia. Branch benefited heavily on designed touches for him. He will benefit at the next level by learning route technique rather than relying solely on his physical gifts. I also worry that Branch will need to rely heavily on a creative offense that designs touches and maximizes his talents. A high-end player comparison would be Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy, while a lower-end comparison would be Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington.

Zachariah Branch | All-22 Film Breakdown

At the 4:32 mark against Ole Miss in the Nerds Film Room, Zachariah Branch’s video game moves were on full display. Branch is able to stop on a dime to make a defender miss while allowing him to pick up additional yards. There are currently 6 full games on Branch in the Nerds Film Room, including film from his days at USC.

Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has Branch as his WR4 and 22nd player overall in this draft class. I am a little lower on Branch than Mel, as I have him as my WR14. Recently on the Dynasty Nerds Podcast, Garret and Jagger conducted a two-round 1QB mock draft for the 2026 class, where Garret selected Branch with his pick at 2.10. Branch’s fantasy value will heavily rely on where he lands in the NFL Draft. He needs to be paired with a creative, offensive-minded coach who can maximize his skill set. I immediately think that whoever hires Mike McDaniel as their head coach or offensive coordinator would be a great fit. He has shown his ability to scheme his offense around his playmakers’ strengths.
