Jeremiyah Love | Running Back | Notre Dame
Height: 6’0’’
Weight: 214 lbs
Jeremiyah Love is the reigning Doak Walker Award winner (given to the top running back in college football), making Love the first player from Notre Dame to win the award. His accomplishments don’t stop there as he was also named a unanimous All-American and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Award, and the Walter Camp Award.

In his junior season, Love finished with career highs in rushing attempts (199), rushing yards (1,372), receiving yards (280), receiving touchdowns (3), and rushing touchdowns (18). Love’s 21 total touchdowns surpassed Jerome Bettis for the most in school history.

Rookie Profile | Strengths and Weaknesses
As a former high school state champion track star, Love’s 4.4 speed shows up on tape, creating mismatches in both the run and passing game. Love’s elite long speed makes him a home run threat every time he touches the ball. Love can make defenders miss in the open field through jukes or hurdles while maintaining excellent contact balance. His running style does not stop there as he is explosive enough to gain the outside edge, turning a three-yard run into a 65-yard house call. Love is a dynamic, game-changing weapon.
As far as areas for improvement with Love, he is limited in his power, but that is not a knock on him, as that is not his running style. Love is a thinner back, and I would not be shocked if he is lighter than the 214 lbs. that he is listed at. When watching Love, you are not getting a bruising style running back. I compare his play style to LeSean McCoy. Love’s game is built on elusiveness in the open field and needs to be utilized much like De’Von Achane is used in Miami. I also wonder about Love’s pass protection. I do not suspect it is an issue, but from the games I scouted, he was limited in pass protection, which could be Notre Dame not prioritizing him in protection schemes.

Draft Capital | Potential Landing Spots
Jeremiyah Love is hands down my RB1 in the class as well as my 1.01 in any rookie drafts. Through my grading process, Love received a 91.75 grade which puts him in the elite fantasy producers (RB1s). Currently, Love is projected to be a top 15 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Some dream landing spots for Love would be in Kansas City or Minnesota. Love’s skills as a runner and pass-catcher make him ideal for Kevin O’Connell’s offense, providing an outlet and offensive relief for J.J. McCarthy.
