Welcome back, IDP Nerds! Week 14 has arrived, and with it comes the final week of the fantasy regular season. Waiver wires are as thin as they’ve been all year, but that doesn’t mean the value is gone. This is the moment where sharp managers—whether new or experienced—can find even one usable IDP contributor to swing a playoff berth, secure a first-round bye, or strengthen their roster for the consolation bracket and future rookie draft positioning. Whether you’re fighting for seeding or simply trying to squeeze out every last edge, this Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire report highlights the late-season options who can still make an impact when your season hangs in the balance.

🧱 Best Defensive Line Waiver Pickups | Week 14 IDP
| Player | Team | FAAB % | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clelin Ferrell | 49ers | 1–5% | Top 5 DL performance in Week 13 |
| Sheldon Rankins | Texans | 1–5% | Averaging 14 FPPG over the last two weeks. |
Clelin Ferrell | San Francisco 49ers | 1-5% FAAB
This late in the season, most fantasy managers looking for help along the defensive line are desperate. Veteran DL Clelin Ferrell has shown signs of life over the previous two games with 52 fantasy points, including a top-5 performance in Week 13. Mind you, 42 of those came last week when he recorded 6 tackles and 2 sacks. Ferrell played 61.9% of the defensive snaps in Week 13 and continues to fill in as injuries have hurt the San Francisco defense this season. The addition of Clelin Ferrell for managers will need to wait until Week 15, as the 49ers have a very late-season bye week. If you can afford to wait and get by this week, Ferrell can be a solid depth add as the playoffs get started next week, especially if you’re seeking a high-upside DL with recent production.
Sheldon Rankins | Houston Texans | 1-5% FAAB
We would rarely be looking to add a defensive tackle on the waiver wire. However, the Houston Texans’ EDGE rushing combo of Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson has allowed others to produce, making Sheldon Rankins a valuable addition. Rankins has averaged over 14 fantasy points over the last two weeks and could be a key contributor in Week 14. His playoff schedule is favorable, with matchups against the Cardinals, Raiders, and Chargers, all of whom rank among the top 6 in sacks allowed this season.
💪 Linebacker Adds (LB) | Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire
| Player | Team | FAAB % | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Malik Harrison | Steelers | 1–5% | Patrick Queen’s injury moves Harrison into an every-down role. |
| Krys Barnes | Panthers | 0–1% | Immediate boost in value with injuries to starting LBs. |
Malik Harrison | Pittsburgh Steelers | 1-5% FAAB
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense suffered a significant injury in their Week 13 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Starting linebacker Patrick Queen was unable to return after a hip injury early in the game. As I mentioned in the Week 11 Waiver Wire article, if an injury were to happen, Malik Harrison was a player who could step up and produce.
Top 5 defensive (initial) PFF grades vs Bills:
Alex Highsmith 79.7
Cameron Heyward 75.9
Asante Samuel Jr. 70.1
Cole Holcomb 68.9
Malik Harrison 62.8#Steelers #NFL— Steelers Depot 7⃣ (@Steelersdepot) December 1, 2025
IDP managers who listened to that advice a few weeks back won’t be spending what’s left of their FAAB to try to acquire the LB. In limited action, Harrison finished as the LB24 in Week 13. If Patrick Queen misses the remainder of the season, I would expect to see Harrison step right in and produce LB2 numbers for managers during this playoff stretch.
Krys Barnes | Carolina Panthers | 0-1% FAAB
I’m looking at this one as a deep add for those IDP managers who are struggling to find startable linebackers down the stretch. Veteran LB Krys Barnes becomes a viable option in deeper leagues with injuries to both Christian Rozeboom and Claudin Cherelus. Barnes has 20 fantasy points in the previous two games and will, at minimum, help you avoid a zero in your lineup. Barnes has zero value if one of the team’s starting linebackers is set to return in Week 14, so monitor this one as the week progresses.
IDP Trivia | Which rookie defensive back has produced back-to-back 20+ point performances and was first highlighted in the Dynasty IDP scouting notes?
🛡️ Defensive Back Adds (DB) | Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire
| Player | Team | FAAB % | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kevin Winston | Titans | 0–1% | Back-to-back 20-point performances. Increase in playing time. |
| Jaden Hicks | Chiefs | 0–1% | Will see more snaps if Bryan Cook misses extended time. |
Kevin Winston | Tennessee Titans | 0-1% FAAB
It’s always nice to see a player in the dynasty scouting notes one week and graduate to a player to add a short time after. That’s the case with rookie defensive back Kevin Winston. The Penn State product was mentioned in Week 10 as a player trending upward. Over the last three games, Winston has 54 of his 64 total fantasy points on the season. That includes back-to-back 20-point performances. This is a stereotypical scenario that savvy managers can exploit late in the season. Bad teams tend to play their rookies more when all hope is lost, and Winston is solidifying himself as a starter going into the 2026 season.
Jaden Hicks | Kansas City Chiefs | 0-1% FAAB
There’s no denying it, I’m a big Jaden Hicks guy. I have loved his tape since breaking down the defensive backs ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, the young DB has struggled to find a starting role in the Kansas City defense. He will likely get his opportunity at least for Week 14 with an ankle injury that forced starting safety Bryan Cook out of action on Thanksgiving.
Jaden Hicks delivered his second double-digit performance of the season. IDP managers can take advantage of this late-season waiver wire add and hope to get a big week when they need it most. Hopefully, Jaden Hicks can repeat last season when he averaged 11.5 fantasy points over the final three games to help IDP managers on their quest for a championship in their leagues.

🧠 FAQ | Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups
Q: Who is the top DL add for Week 14?
A: Clelin Ferrell (DL, San Francisco 49ers) is the most impactful defensive line pickup this week. He posted a massive top-5 DL performance in Week 13 with 52 fantasy points and has seen increased snaps due to injuries on the 49ers’ defense. While San Francisco has a Week 14 bye, Ferrell becomes an immediate depth piece for playoff-bound teams starting in Week 15. Sheldon Rankins (DL, Texans) is the better immediate play, especially with a favorable playoff schedule against high–sack-allowing offenses.
Q: Which linebacker should I prioritize in Week 14?
A: Malik Harrison (LB, Pittsburgh Steelers) is the top linebacker add after stepping into a larger role when Patrick Queen exited with a hip injury. He finished as the LB24 in Week 13 despite limited snaps and should carry LB2 value if Queen misses extended time. Krys Barnes (LB, Panthers) is a deeper-league option for managers in desperate need of a floor play while Carolina deals with injuries at the position.
Q: Who are the best defensive back pickups for Week 14?
A: Kevin Winston (DB, Tennessee Titans) leads the way after logging back-to-back 20-point outings and emerging as a late-season breakout. Tennessee is giving their rookies more run, making Winston a strong short-term and dynasty asset. Jaden Hicks (DB, Chiefs) is another strong add if Bryan Cook misses time. Hicks delivered a double-digit performance and has proven late-season upside dating back to last year.
Q: Who are the top drop candidates going into Week 14?
A: You can confidently move on from Al-Quadin Muhammad, Elandon Roberts, and Ty Okada. Muhammad has been pushed into a rotational role with Marcus Davenport returning. Roberts offers no meaningful value for 2025 and is not producing consistently enough for this stretch run. Okada’s usefulness ends with Julian Love returning to the lineup in Week 14.
Q: Who are the best Week 14 IDP trade targets?
A: James Pearce (DL, Falcons) is a prime buy for non-contenders as he continues his late-season surge with four straight games of 15+ points. Shaq Thompson (LB, Bills) gives contenders a steady LB2 floor as Buffalo leans heavily on veteran linebackers down the stretch. Jordan Poyer (DB, Bills) is a one-year rental with a reliable double-digit floor—an ideal acquisition for teams making a playoff push.
Q: Which players should dynasty managers be watching closely heading into 2026?
A: Ashton Gillotte (DL, Chiefs) is earning more snaps and showing growth, posting 20 combined fantasy points the past two weeks. Francisco Mauigoa (LB, Jets) is a speculative stash with Quincy Williams rumored to be moved in the offseason. Jahdae Barron (DB, Broncos) hasn’t produced as a rookie but is positioned for a Year 2 role increase with expiring contracts ahead of him.
